Puncture makes this much more difficult than a scratch or similar. That's gonna be some extent of pro body work, I don't think guy in the driveway any method is going to solve this one.

It is hard to tell the depth of the damage from the picture but if it is more than a normal scratch/chip then the paint layering method will probably take an unreasonable amount of repeat applications to fill it in so it is flush with the surrounding paint.

I wouldn't recommend a paint pen because you have less control over the amount of paint dispensed and where it goes compared to liquid paint applied with a micro applicator, toothpick, or matchstick. I have used one previously on a wheel but wouldn't buy another one.

Hey all, as promised coming with the update.
So unfortunately I forgot all about the advice of using sandpaper to smooth over the paint. So while it is a perfect match and safe and secure, the surface is unfortunately rough.

I am okay with it. But anyone lurking the thread - be sure to figure out how to make your touch-up job smooth. Some of the comments early on in the thread specify using 2000 or 3000 grade sandpaper and micro-fiber towels. Perhaps body shops have some specialised tools for this.
