The way things are going they will most likely just end up stolen so the dealers will get paid anyway. Could be some dealers' business plan.

The gen6 is a level above a gen5 except for those two plastic flaps on the convertible.

lol, don't count on it.

Dealers will keep them until they sell.

Somewhere I read that many leftover vehicles get sold overseas for a premium.

The dealers will eventually sell all of them, especially the 6.2 and "expensive" convertibles!

You can probably get discounts on the left over ones. I doubt dealers want these cars just sitting on their lots. Ford is giving discounts on the s650 Mustangs.

As of today, Chevy site says 90 2023 models are still available. 66 of them convertible. 22 of them have 6.2. Somehow there's 1 6.2 ZL1 left!

The V8s won't, they'll sell out. The LTs might get a discount if they sit long enough.

There's a 1LT RS 6-speed still on the lot from when I bought my SS last November. Ouch. And there's a 3LT Panther Edition. Both appear to still have markup beyond MSRP even with some light incentives added in.

IMHO the 6.2L supercharged ZL1 will sell out, with no new ones left in showrooms. After which good low mileage vehicles, of what is probably an example of one of the last true American Muscle Cars (big V8 power, RWD), will be well sought after & attract a premium price.

There were literally dozens and dozens of Gen 5 Z/28's that sat on dealer lot's for well over a year, some even three years if memory serves with faded paint and dry rotted Trofeo's. They will sell every last one eventually.

I remember that but that was a different situation. 75k was a lot for a Camaro at that time especially one that didn’t even have that much power compared to what else you could get for the money. Yes it was a bargain in terms of lap times but that’s not what people dropping 75k on a muscle car want/wanted. It had to compete with the zl1 which had more power for less money and rode nicer, GT500’s and hellcats which had a ton more power and appeal to the typical muscle car buyer at that time wanting to drop 50+k on a camaro/mustang or challenger.

Now we are in different times and the Z/28 fetches a nice premium.

When the Gen 5 return was officially announced by Rick Wagoner (now I’m dating myself lol) with his somewhat famous line “we’re not brain dead” (if you don’t remember the concept made the autoshow rounds in 2006-07 and demand for Camaro’s return was through the roof), GM had planned for the vast majority of initial orders to be with the 3.6 V6.

Something like 60% were for the V8. They had to reforecast production schedules to meet demand.

Ah the good old days (only 15 years ago really)….. when GM actually made something people wanted and promoted it properly

They go to auction if they don't get sold.
