2013 ZL1 with LT headers and a pulley, it needs a fuel pump
A few weeks back I picked up a 2013 ZL1 Auto with 60K miles on it. It has a 2.5" pulley, long tubes, we think no cats, 3 inch exhaust with X pipe all the way back to stock mufflers. I took it to a tuner here in Ocala FL with a good rep so he could take a look at it to make sure it was safe to drive it and get on it it etc etc without breaking it.. He put his laptop on it and took it for a drive. He said that its got good power but noticed that torque management was missing on the downshifts and that would kill the trans if left that way. He also said that the injector duty cycle hit 126% and this leaned out the motor with some detonation on the top end. He recommended replacing the stock fuel pump to fix the duty cycle issue. He mentioned that the stock fuel pump and injectors should be just fine with the mods that are on the car and that he's seen this before and fixed it by replacing the fuel pump. I agreed so I had him order the pump and will let them do the install along with replacing the rear mag ride shocks and a proper tune.
Is there anything else I should do? |

That's about 18% overdrive, I would think you would need a stock fuel pump + boost a pump or aux pump + bigger injectors to be safe.

Mine makes 600 wheel with a stick shift and the stock pump has no issues.
2.4 pulley Ported throttle body No cats Intake ID 1000 injectors. Sounds to me like you need injectors, not a pump. Stock injectors are done at about 540 wheel. If your tuner does not know that you need a new tuner.

In order to keep this sane I feel like I should go up to a 2.75" pulley. I have an ADM hub.
https://lsa-conversion-store.myshopi...version-pulley I believe the stock belt size should fit but there's no chart that shows a 2.75 upper and stock lower. I did find a gates HD belt that is 3/16" shorter than stock so I think this should fit https://www.gates.com/us/en/power-tr...555-00224.html This combo will lower the boost to help keep the motor safe correct? Lastly I found my HPtuners MPVI2 with 2 credits unused. Can I use this to log data to see what the injector duty cycle and fuel pressure are? |

I bought a car with a very similar combination as you, except the 3".
I log with HP tuners & just checked a 1/4 mile pass. My highest injector duty cycle was 51٪. Fuel pressure was about 65lbs. I don't know whats in the tank, but no boost a pump or aux pump. Injectors appear stock. |

Yes you will need to use both credits but HP tuners will log your injector duty. you really need don't want to get above 80% duty.
