Canadian Car
I’m looking at buying a 2019 2ss camaro should I be worried about a car that was originally purchased in Canada? I know I need to make sure the car has the emissions equipment for California. Thanks in advance!

[QUOTE=Kyletech;11268246]The car is on a car lot in Washington State.[/QUOTE
Which lot, just courious , I born raised in Seattle area. Moved 2 years ago. Washington State doesn't do emissions testing anymore . I think all the cars produced are 50 state legal and it wouldn't make sense not to do Canada cars as well.

The dealer got back to me that their licensing department is to busy to deal with a California transfer…. They had the car listed with around 23,000 miles but the car fax shows over 50,000 and the price is inline for 23,000 miles not 50,000 (50,000 is the actual mileage) so I’m moving on. I’m looking for a Blue 2019+ 2ss auto with a sun roof so that isn’t impossible to find but not everywhere kind of car. A uninsured drunk driver totaled my 2015 green flash camaro, we didn’t get hurt in the collision.

Doubt the CARFAX
The carfax shows an entry at 23k+ miles on 9/22/22 then offered at auction abiut 23 days later at 52k+ miles.
Quick math says that's about 1200 miles a day every day for 23 straight days. Not impossible, but not very likely either. The mileage from new leading up to the September entry (at 23,000) looks consistent and reasonable to me. The Carfax is likely wrong. |

I thought some of the discrepancy may have been conversion from kMs to miles, but even considering this, none of the math makes sense. Good luck in your search. |

There isn't much to understand beyond the car isn't CA-ready and they know it and/or they don't want to invest any more time/effort/money into the car to sell it than they have to.

I found out the car fax is wrong and the car only has 23k but they don’t want to work with an out of state buyer. It’s to bad with my insurance company I can return the rental car to any enterprise rental car agency and would totally make the 500 mile drive for the car they have at the price they are asking…
