Found a 17, 2SS, vert. 8k miles 42k. Did not like the red accent interior. Also at least 5k more than I would pay. Nice car though.

Okay I built a new one on GM website, 2SS, with a few goodies and it came out to around 57k. My 2015 stickered at 42500. That means they have gone up 14,500 MSRP in 8 model years. This equals about 1825 per year. In 2020 my 2015 2SS was worth about 31k retail pre-covid. After all the calculations I figure if prices normalize, I should be able to find a nice 2019 2SS/RS for around 38,500. With under 15k miles. I realize this is way less than it would sell for now but my price is going to be pretty close if things normalize. If I find a car I fall in love with obviously I can move a thousand or 2 but not much more. They simply are not more to me. Thanks for everyone's input. Hope I can find one next spring.

The only option I missed out on are the red seatbelts. In general, I think you are better buying a new car right now since used car prices tend to be too high. That said, there are exceptions to that rule if you are able to find the “right” used car. |

On that note, one reason I suspect we see prices dropping right now is because we're headed into winter months when RWD is less attractive to people. If you wait until next spring you may see prices get bumped up again and availability will be a flip of the coin. |

Just landed a 2023 ZL1 in vivid orange MT under msrp. They honored my gm supplier discount, msrp was around 71-72k. Got it for 68995 plus tax and all

I'm in the upper midwest, MN, so here in snow country low miles sports cars are fairly common. And yes the one I built was pretty well loaded. Most of the new 2SS in my area are around 53k-55k. What I explained at 38K is plan A. If I find a new one on a lot next spring for the right price I might just grab it. Plan A is to try and save some coin.

Still looking, found. 18 2SS vert. with 14k. Asking 39500. Closer but still a bit much. At 35k I might buy.

We're starting to get back to pre-COVID conditions with some manufactures' products. One of my friends picked up a new Dodge 1500 this month at 20% under msrp. And that was an advertised price on their website. Pre-COVID I was always able to score 25-30% off mrsp on new cars. I'd like a new 2500, but no such luck on those for large discount, yet.
Since Chevy isn't producing many Camaros, I'm forecasting Camaro discounts are not going to return to pre-COVID status before they shut down the line. I think its likely they stick close to MSRP sale price this year and will continue until Camaros are no longer available. My advice, get the Camaro you want while you still can. Personally I wouldn't buy used, too many people abuse the heck out of them.. Last edited by fj5gtx; 01-28-2023 at 11:31 AM. Reason: grammar |
