2023 Order...
I inquired about a build for a 2023 ZLE and just got a phone call saying there are "constraints" on new Camaro's and they wouldn't know when they could actually place the order but wanted a $1K deposit. If/when the constraint was lifted and we are able to place an order then I would need to put down $5K to get in the queue. Is this normal? I'm Canada and dealing with the largest or one of the largest Chevy dealers in Canada. Also, bought my 2ss vert from them as well.

$1000 deposit on an order is normal and is usually the maximum required amount of money to order. An additional $5k isn't usually required after the order is accepted isn't.
ZLEs can be harder to order and may be constrained, where a ZL1 might get allocated. It's usually easier to order a regular ZL1. |

I was also asked to put down $5K for a deposit on a ZL1. I think it varies from dealer to dealer.

I would try to find one in transit or on a dealers lot.

My dealer did not require me to put anything down when I made my order for a 22 ZL1 convertible in Sept 2021 that turned in to a 23 ZL1.
