Wow, I never heard that about tuning the 19's and up, I thought it was just the 22's on up. Carls green camaro was nice, but it's a 1ss, and mrc Is an absolute must along with a sunroof and manual. Also, if I bought it, I would have to put in $3-4k in mods just to get to where I was with my old car, and with prices so high right now, I would be spending way more to have what I had before. That's why I came to the conclusion of just getting a zl1 and maybe get it wrapped or something. Just perspective, I paid 50k out the door fully loaded 2ss in 2017, the dealer selling his car is asking $47.5k and it has over 20k miles, in my head, I just can't allow myself to do that lol. I'm gonna try to ride my bike for a month, throw out low ball offers and hope it all works out. Riding a bike in 116 degree weather is rough though, so idk how long I'll last lol. Thr new zl1's are just out of my reach is the problem with buying new. I can deal with 61k, but anything over, I just can't afford, damn this lady for doing this to me!

I can absolutely see prices coming down and not too far into the future, either.
Inflation, gas prices, and a lot of concern about the economy turning downward are putting a lot of people on edge about a lot of things. I read something yesterday that said the average time to sell a Mustang right now off of a dealer lot (new) is something like 61 days. Granted, the ones that are dragging the average down are likely NOT the ones with V8's, but still... |

I'm seriously considering selling mine right now to max out what I could get for it and then ordering a 2023. By the time it comes in, I could be in a pretty good position to negotiate a good deal.

That might work, but with no trade-in, you will be paying tax on the entire purchase price. That can make quite a difference on a $50-60-70,000 car. Our tax is 5% on vehicles, so on my ZL1 it will be $3,500-$4,000.

6.35% is the "regular" tax level with a higher rate (7.5%?) for over 50k. And the luxury tax is against the ENTIRE price, not just the portion over 50k. Interest rates are on the rise, so putting the money in the bank for what could be months will be seen as income. Plus, I will give up the storage unit rental for whatever period of time I'm without a car. Not income, but still a reduction in expenses. No insurance costs over that period as well, so again the costs go down. Hard to guess what the "my car plus how much" cost would be against a guess off of MSRP for an outright purchase... |

Most dealers offered about $4,000 less than my asking price. When I mentioned that I had a dealer willing to meet me $200 below my asking price, I had other dealers encouraging me to sell to that dealer... So I did. They initially marked it up 6 grand but they have already cut that in half. I added a few links below for visualization (in case someone doesn't want to believe a random stranger on the internet) People are financing more for longer with very little savings left. As of the latest data (April) prices were at an all-time high. It's not absurd to think used auto demand is dipping and prices are starting to follow. This is one of those inflection points where you have to hedge your bets and pick a side. Personally, I'm on team lower prices! https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/CUSR0000SETA https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/DTCTLVEUANQ https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/PSAVERT https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/DTCTLVEUMNQ |

why do you want the ZL1? are you going to be using all that horsepower or is the 2SS enough for you?
that was the question i asked myself and i decided to go for the 2SS 1LE instead of the ZL1. buy new one, place an order you don't need to buy it when it comes and by the time it's time to pick it up most likely they will have some good incentives because the economy is going down badly. we will see that for the rest of the year with raising rate and inflated prices. |

I don’t have a crystal ball but my prediction this whole time was late 2023 prices will be back down however they will be adjusted for inflation. Still will be way cheaper than buying a used car today. |

No prices coming down any time soon. Stop spreading fake news. Who the hell decides all by themselves to make such statements? They are not in the car business and no clue what they are talking about . There is no supply compared to the demand and most vehicles if ordered take months to arrive no matter what make or model.
