I guess im lean more towards the “everything is for sale” side of things. Especially when it comes to material possessions. Even more so with high volume (normally) see them every day cars like mustangs and corvettes etc. BUT with the dawn of EV skynet take over that does change the “algorithm” a little bit. What ultimately drew me to the ZL1 1LE. Or even the camaro in general. I barely ever see them in any trim level and that is directly reflected by the low production numbers. |

I hear the same argument about spending vs saving. Theoretically unless your income in nearing (math off the top of my head) $500K per year you probably should not be buying an $80K car, depending on other spending. You should be 401K or investing or. ok, weird post over

I've thought about selling my rally green LT1 6-speed but I'd want a special car to replace it. My Caddy dealer thinks they can get me a CT5 Blackwing manual (I tried to get one of the first 250 but didn't, so entered an order on the waitlist). The Blackwing is a great car - a buddy got one and it really is a special car, probably the last V8 manual 4-door ever.
I also have an order for an RS6 Avant. I've always wanted one of those and now that can get them in the US I feel like it is a special car that won't be around long. I wasn't sure it would ever get an allocation but my dealer just said I have a spring build date assigned now so it might actually get built. Or I may just keep the Camaro. It is a great car and I don't think they will make another V8 manual car like this again. |

I sold my 2019 SS 1LE after engine blew on track (fixed under warranty) for about $1000 more than what I paid for it when it was new. I paid $39,500 new (plus tax, title, fees) in December 2019. It was a steal I thought! The dealer gave me $44k in June 2021. Now I kind of regret selling it because it was in a lot of ways my dream car and the sports car bug is itching and I realize $40k doesn’t buy you much anymore these days.
I do have $10k equity in my daily and am thinking about a ZLE. Might as well order a new one since used ones are going for the same as a new one. |

OP here. Finished the deal with Vroom. Car picked up on Tuesday. I immediately emailed the BoL. Check received Wednesday, deposited Thursday, cleared Friday and in my investment account to bank on the current Omnicron slump. I never thought I'd make XX% on this car. I expected to drive it for a few years and take a big loss when I did sell it.

Now all the prices are up but this may be the new norm for a while, maybe the foreseeable future. Now that people are becoming accustomed to paying MSRP I am not so sure dealers will be so quick to retreat back to previous pricing unless there is a significant imbalance in supply again. Furthermore, with the shift to EVs I would not be surprised if we see more manufacturers moving toward the direct ordering model like Tesla, Rivian, etc.

^^^^ That 110% This is why I have refused to succumb to the urge of selling for the $$. I know a short time after the car is gone and the $$ is in the bank, I'll be pissed I sold it and will be looking to buy.
