The engine dyno is really the best way to test motors as it eliminates most variables, except Denver altitude (!). Of course the name shops only quote engine dyno crank or brake HP. On the other hand, no one here is going to pull their motor and drop it onto an engine dyno.

Does anyone make aftermarket thrust bearings for the LT4 that will live longer?

Main studs should be considered on the 1k + builds.

Turbo cars will go further since there is less parasitic pumping loss and nothing pulling on the crank. That is likely how LPE got 1400hp out of their SBE TT LT4 on a engine dyno.
Maybe the lower TQ in the lower RPMs I'm seeing on another car with a PD is a good thing then, lol. I've been trying to see if it will take a little more timing down low, but I think it's getting as much as it wants right now. Not that I'm stressing it much, but that's a good point.

I bet it should get you there. After playing with the IAT Spark table, I can see the car will tolerate a little more timing, so there are gains to be had if you can keep the MATs down. The stock table was pulling a lot, but with that IC, I bet you don't have to start pulling timing from that table for a good bit.

You have to machine the block and main cap for it. TSP does it in their stuff I think, so the bearings much be out there. I think LS-bearings are at least similar, if not the same, so maybe that's what's being used to correct this issue.

King LS Style Bearings were used in mine, they fit without machining.
Other LS bearings require machining the block and main caps as already mentioned by radz28

I'd consider one or more of these options: https://jannettyracing.com/pages/sea...mance+packages
