I was in my Friends 2006 Z06 and felt you were way too close to the ground and was hoping that the Camaro was a tads higher off the ground to get in.,Read that the Leg Room in the Camaro is 4 inchs longer then the Stang.
Hope that the Camaro is larger to get in then a 370Z cause a Z370 is kindaaaa cramped inside........JT |

Best way to know if it suits your taste is to test drive a 2020. There’s not going to be any differences between the 2 & if you like it better than the Challenger then wait till you find the deal you want on a 2021 if you have to have that year. If it was me I wouldn’t be so hung up on the year when there’s no difference, especially if you’re not even sure that’s the car you want. Besides that, what do you mean by basic? There’s an LT1 with the SS motor, a 1SS & a 2SS. There’s no 1 SS “basic”. With that said, if you just want the power & don’t care about the rest of the amenities then the LT1 would be what you’re after. Just as fast, at least in a straight line but cheaper and any of them will easily out handle a Challenger if that matters to you.

I like the Camaro 1SS,what I mean as Basic means Manual only,Don't need all the other stuff that will make the price jump.I agree I will jump into a 2021 Camaro when they start showing up on dealer lots and see how the fit is lol.
By looking on the outside it looks like the same height as a stang when your in one? Makes little sense in buying a 2020 unless you need a car right awaysssss.......JT |

This is the most confusing thread. I’m totally lost. You said you wanted a 2020 1SS but it was gone (assume you mean it sold). Then you said you would buy (order) a 2021 model but there are no rebates. That’s because they aren’t on dealer lots yet. Then you said you want to get one by October or you will just get a 2021 Challenger. Then, in the last post you said it makes no sense to get a 2020 model because why not just wait until you can get a 2021 model. So, are you willing to wait until the 2021 models show up at dealerships or not? The 2020 models are readily available and you can probably find them with rebates. You won’t get a 2021 model by October if that is your time frame for getting one. You can place an order, but there won’t be any really good discounts on those cars. Cars sitting on dealer lots get the discounts. Like another person said, you might want to look into the LT1 model. Cheaper, same power and torque, none of the bells and whistles (basic), etc. Regardless, it sounds like you need to at least take a test drive to see if you even like it. You seem worried about the size of the interior. I promise you, it will feel much smaller than a challenger.

I happen to agree with you the Camaro will be smaller inside then a challenger(I have owned 3 Challengers and many Stangs)When I first started thinking about getting a Camaro(2 weeks ago}
the only one I liked was a Camaro 1ss Manual in dark green in CT but it was sold a few days ago.Now I have been reading that people are putting in their orders for the 2021 Camaros(Yes it would be nice to get a rebate but think it will be around $500 at First} As for wanting a Camaro in Oct,I would take one in Sept if the right Camaro in the right color shows up.Too me the inside of a LT1 looks cheap inside then a 1SS,have to live with the car so its a 1SS.Guy down the street had a SS that was maybe 7 or 8 years old my height 6ft3in but he weight in atads over 300Lbs loved his car and never said that it was a tight fit inside.I never took a test drive in a car and think that I never will(means nothing to me}But only need to sit in one when they arrive on dealer lots..........JT |

As far as the interior quality...the 1SS and the LT1 are almost identical with the exception of the gauge cluster. The fit/finish and materials used are the same. |

I used to Travel to NYC everyday too work from Pa. area and had to tradin my cars every 3 years that I bought New and No test drives.
(from a Escort too Mustang Gts}So I will wait till a 2021 Camaro 1SS shows up at a local dealer....I agree the LT1 Dash does not look as good as a SS and so is the Radio system. I read about the bad visibility(Challenger also sucks}but thought they had a Camara Mirror or is that only in a 2SS? You folks have been very helpful.................Thanks JT |

Was looking for a 2020 Basic Camaro 1SS,and I could have bought one for around $36,000 but I did not want white.But then again I never sat in a Camaro and wanted too butttt just didnot get around too it.I was going to tradin my 2016 Challenger Rt Shaker witha 5.7.
Butttt I seen my Local dealer got a 2020 Challenger Scat Pack 6.4 (392 485HP} I thought maybe I will have lots more room in the Challenger since I owned 3.And the Horsepower. Anyways I am happy getting a Scat Pack but thought change would have been nice in getting a Camaro butttt those Mopar Power Dollars and Rebates($6000}make me go Mopar again.....Maybe in 2023 I might look at Camaros again lol.....JT |
