Consumption of brake pads, rotors and tires for track
Had my first 1/2 day at the track today. I did 3 sessions of 30 minutes with 30 minute cool down in between runs.
How many 1/2 day events can I reasonably expect to get out of a new set of pads, new set of tires and new rotors? 2 or 3 half day events? ‘19 ZL1 (non 1LE). Or are there too many variables to answer this? I don’t really use the car for anything else other than an occasional cars and coffee meet or a short weekend drive in the country. |

Depends on how hard you are on the brakes, tires, etc to make that assessment.

There are a good amount of variables, as said above, track, driving level, etc but as a loose guide. Tracks with a couple of hard braking zones, and faster corners, high intermediate/lower advanced level driving.
Stock Tires 15 sessions plus or minus before they are toast. Nittos last longer. Pads maybe 25 sessions plus or minus before there is no pad. 250.00 +/- Front rotors, 40 sessions plus or minus before warping/cracking 400.00 +/- a piece Rear rotors, seem to last a good while. |

I don't know about official track days, but my at 6000 miles my back tires were toast. I drove many back roads at full tilt, at 80mph in a 35mph zone corner. Braking hard, turning hard and my brakes were still ok.

Each persons experience is going to be different, and as you get more familiar with the car, the rate at which you consume tires and brakes is also going to change. Best thing to do is measure how much brake pad you consumed during this past session and assume thats what you will be consuming going forward.

At VIR Full which is moderately "brake heavy", probably 6 track days for front brake pads & 8-10 for rears. Tires are the most variable for drivers. I don't slide a lot so mine will last about 4-6 track days front & rear.

I ran Roebling Road yesterday, which is the hardest track on tires that I’ve run. You are cornering for about 60 seconds out of a 80 second lap, and it just works the hell out of the left side tires. I ran 60 laps (about 120 miles) and the front tires are pretty much done. And several of those laps were just warming up trying to get the feel of the new car. Road Atlanta and VIR are gentle on tires by comparison. Roebling is easy on brakes, though.
