LOL, I knew that. I was being sarcastic. Because none of these excuses seem to match up. The excuse for the GT500's lack of consistency is the Cup2s. However on the same day and same track the GT3 with the same tires did not fall off as severely. And traction is the reason the GT500 can't beat the ZL1 and ZLE despite everyone swearing up and down that it would. Yet even on prepped tracks in full day sessions they're only doing like one 10 sec run and the rest are 11s. Meanwhile the ZR1 at 755 HP is not having these issues. So I'm just trying to figure out what the Mustang guys are saying the issue is. Because if a car is built right then it should not be having these kinds of problems.

The time is likely keeping the clutch(es) alive + controlling engine torque/traction. Probably just a limit Ford set to keep things alive. |

Ford must’ve changed something with their launch control last minute because the Goodwood car has a more instant reaction.

Let's address the root of the track argument as pertains to the new GT500, which was Blaqwhole correctly identifying the fact that the new GT500 having a top speed limited to 180 is sad. It's pretty pathetic that this overpriced Ford has the same top speed as a Camaro SS that costs about half as much in true price. Consider that if Ford was aiming at the Hellcat and ZL1, they've had since 2015 and 2017 respectively to compete. The fact that they did so poorly in this aspect means that we can only speculate why, with 760hp, does it have the same top speed as a 455hp Camaro? For those who don't personally care about speed, at least admit that both the Hellcat and ZL1 having pretty fast top speeds (neighborhood of 200) carries some bragging rights, and it's strange that Ford allowed their more-expensive car to get spanked by both of these older models. |

No one here should be concerned with the top speed of these cars as no one will ever hit it, unless you are a paid test driver that takes the car to the Nardo Ring one time. As you said it's just bragging rights nothing else. IF the GT500 has high speed stability issues i could see the concern, but i highly doubt the new car is more unstable than the 2014. |

The one time I clipped 130 on a short track (M1 Concourse) I nearly needed an underwear change after the next corner.
Like a famous comedian once said...."first you say it, then you do it"....."Oh $#!t"
