Anyone have clutch engaging at top of peddle travel?
My 2012 zl1 manual has 4000 miles on it, and was bought used. The car is all stock. But the peddle engages the clutch at the very top of peddle travel. I've gotten used to it somewhat. But my 2010 engages in the middle of travel. Which seems more normal. Since there is no adjustments I'm thinking there might be air in the system and needs bled. Anyone else have the same issue?

My 2014 engages in the top 3/4 of travel....
One thing I've read to keep things healthy is to change the fluid in the reservoir if it starts to look darker, seems some clutch dust can migrate into the shared reservoir. I learned to like the engagement point after I figured out it's less pedal distance to dis-engage as well.... Happy Gear Bangin' |

I've driven 3 5th gen ZL1's. The engagement point is high (I like it there personally). You can get it to lower down a bit if you install the triple-disk Monster clutch, though...

so sounds like just the way its designed then. I'm sure the fluid is ok with 4000 miles

Its normal for our cars, from what I understand. I dont worry about it much, but it did take some getting used to coming from an auto trans, and not driving a manual for 15 years prior.
