I must have missed it. What's the story with the 10.6 timeslip being from early April? I could see the production intent cars being tested a few weeks before the Embargo lift date, but not 6 months prior.

Congrats on the new GT350!! You were wise to wait for the price to come down, and hopefully the updated block from the GT500 will cure the oil consumption issues for buyers.

When are you going to take that thing to an HPDE? VIR isn't too far away from North Carolina!

But it is a shame that he had to wait all this time to get a new one. I got my ZL1 at MSRP in 2017 and I was ready and willing to pay it. I thought it was a great deal and didn't even try to haggle the price down. They then told me I would qualify for $3K in rebates and I was amazed. That was in early 2017 making me one of the first people in NJ to have a ZL1 in their first year of production. Now 2-3 years later you still can't even get the lower performing GT350R for what a fully loaded ZL1 would be at MSRP with no discounts whatsoever. And even the GT350 with a discount is still right around what a moderately optioned ZL1 would cost. Which is a shame that with Ford performance comes at such a high price.
Geezus give it a ****in rest already. Just congratulate the guy for his patience and persistence in getting what he wanted. Who GAF what you got for what. If he wanted something else then he'd get something else. Just stfu and congratulate the guy on his dream car. Can ya do that? Christ. I thought Mustang fan boys were bad... You're there man.

Of course you got a great deal without even trying, there's no demand so discounting is the only way they can move the cars off the lot. Have you seen the sales numbers for the Camaro lately? The Shelbys have always had more demand and a bigger fanbase and the the additional cost reflects that.

The other thing I haven't seen mentioned is how they compare when resale value is added to the equation. You may pay more upfront for the Shelbys, but you'll recoup some of that compared to the ZL1's when you go to sell.

Well you certainly are a triggered and sensitive lil fella ain't ya? LOL!! I brought up facts that are significant to the purchase of these vehicles. If that bothers you then don't buy a Ford. Fact of the matter is that it is often seen that people have to jump thru all kinds of hoops to get a GT350. Including waiting years for one to go at a decent price. I'm not dishing on his purchase. I already said "congrats" to him. But this isn't a Ford GT or a ZR1 or even something on the level of a Z06 or GTR. This is a GT350 non-R we're talking about. It is on the level of the Camaro SLE. Yet even now you gotta play games to buy one. These factors all impact how many of us view these cars. When any of us can go and have gone to a dealership and walked out with a ZL1 for a great price brand new and even a Z06. The same thing will happen with the GT500. Which is why I find it funny that it was considered a great bargain. Like everyone is just supposed to talk about MSRP and ignore the fact that nobody is getting one at that price. These are all important considerations when shopping these cars and a well informed consumer would not just try to glamour over it. If you don't like it then perhaps you don't belong in a conversation where these cars are fully discussed.

Maybe, but the facts add up to it being believable

It’s nowhere near as ridiculous as dodge claiming the demon runs 9.65

A 10.6 is for sure in the ballpark with a good driver and DA

That's fine with me. It just means I'll get an amazing car for even less than the already great pricing they start at. And it means that the Shelby guys are paying even more for a car that has no hopes of beating mine. I see that as a win!! I hope the trend continues.

I saw this yesterday.

A used 2018 ZLE with just over 4K miles going for $57K. That is an amazing price. And this is typical for our market.

After reading the reviews, I admit I was sorely tempted by the idea of a GT500(R).

I have been waiting for a C8Z as a 'move up' from my 1LE. But, the C8Z is two years away...the GT500 is here now...

And then I thought...the C8 is at the beginning of it's model life (Z51, C8GS, C8Z, C8 ZR1, etc) and the GT500 is at the end of it's.

And the Z51 already beats it.

Back to waiting for the C8Z.

That wouldn't be me! I'd love to have the 500 over my 350.

This is why I scratch my head about the 500 and the R on the same showroom floor at the same price. The non-R makes sense, and to me, discontinuing the R makes more sense once the 500 was released. Keep the exclusivity etc too.

He won't see this for a while. He is too busy talking shit about us and the Camaro over on M6G with his new buddies. Apparently the GT500 is 7 tenths faster than the ZL1 and we're all bringing the C8 into the conversation to save the day because the ZL1 doesn't stand a chance.

Hey newmoon, instead of talking shit and spreading lies, maybe you should tell your new friends that quite a bit of us actually think the ZLE will kick the GT500's ass around a track and that the GT500 is not going to be anywhere near 7 tenths faster when both are tested same day same track. Nobody needs the C8.
