Just got out of the car an hours ago and stumple a bit when got up and my right foot landed close to the side skirt and my boot eyelid sttuck my sideskirt....

I think the paint code number is W40A848 for satin black .

I will need to be ordered, in the mean time ill use my Kia Cadenza black touch up paint pen that has metallic flakes in it, it will still be better than exposed grey plastic...

Im so pissed at myself....

Stuff happens. I wouldn't recommend putting anything on it until you have the real deal.

The side skirts are Mosaic Black, paint code GB8 from GM or WA-384A for touch up paint.

Called my dealer and they have gb8 wa-384a touch pen but under the name black meet kettle instead of mosaic black

It happens man.. and it's not surprising either. The paint and clear coat are so thin to begin with.

That's interesting but I don't think it's accurate for the side skirts. They're definitely not Satin or Semi-Gloss by any definition. The 1LE side skirts are a satin/flat black.

Black meet kettle metallic was the name at some point for Mosaic Black. The paint code is WA384A.

Your side skirts in your post look very gray and not the deep black of Mosaic but that could be due to lighting or them being dirty. Can you confirm?

These colors have several fancy marketing names, don't get hung up on Black Meet Kettle vs Mosaic Black. My color is Garnet Red Tintcoat aka Red Obsession aka Caught Red Handed, for example. What matters is the code, which is GB8 or its equivalent WA384A in your case.

If you see metallic flakes in the paint under illumination, it definitely is GB8, if not, it could be the semi-gloss black wonder you found in that table or a proper gloss black. I can't tell from the pic, because your side skirt is dirty (sorry).

Looking at the chip, there is a good chunk of material missing, so if you just touch it up with paint, you'll still have the visible ridge, you may want to add some filler before painting or have a body shop fix this properly.

My friend that did a full IGL quartz+ (ceramic coat) on my car also does paint correction, he will be able to blend it pretty good, he will take care of it after his vacation.
In the mean time he told me just cover it up with 1 or 2 quick tap with the brush.

Thats what i just did.

Looks better than grey bare plastic...

Dude, I had a paint chip right above the passenger side rear wheel well. It was down to the bare metal !!! I have no idea how the hell that happened !!!

I lost sleep for 2 weeks when I first discovered it. I finally accepted that the car is going to get some blemishes here and there. I touched it up, got it ceramic coated and put clear bra over it.

Do your best to move on. It’s a car and it’s going to have paint issues at some point
