LSA pulley swap/injector questions??

My wife night me a 13 ZL1 A6 for Christmas, as far as I can tell the only upgrade is a Rotofab cai.. For my birthday she got me a solid isolator with a 2.5 upper pulley..

My question is will I be safe running stock injectors it do I need to upgrade them?

Wow, 100 views and no one touched this?

I’m no expert on this . More like the new kid on the block. I’m driving your twin, so I have done some research.

Looks like this is where you will be with changing just the upper:

LSA 2.550 in. 7.800 in. 19,900 12-13 psi +50 hp

The information is on this link:

http://https://www.onallcylinders.co...e-performance/

The stock injectors are said to be good up to 600 RWHP

You should have some space if that is your only mod. Even with a CAI , you should still be fine. You will need to do a tune because of the pulley . Probably invest in a SCTX4 .

Jannetty Racing would be a good place for that. Ask away when you call them. Great guys. I just placed an order with them a few days ago.

.

Good luck with it.

RotoFab CAI, ATI Balancer, 22.5% OD pulley, Dynatech 1 7/8” LT headers with Dynatech HF cats, DSX auxiliary pump, DSX flex fuel sensor, ID1050x injectors, 174 Thermostat , Moroso catch can , Metco breather, Aeroforce Interceptor gauge , JRE Tune, ..that’s all (for now).

I am addicted to power, will work for mods.

This is an age old debate... and the general consensus is that maybe you can get away with it ... but if you lean out and blow the motor the money you saved by not buying injectors can go towards a new motor! Some guys manage without injectors but why risk it ?? Did you search this topic yet ? You didnt get the replies you hoped for because in the end it's just not worth it for reliable horsepower. I'd only go 2.85" on stock injectors.. do a search ..
The stock injectors are NOT rated by horsepower, it's a case by case situation evaluated by scanning the motor .. beware before you blow up your awesome gift !!!

^This.

Starving the engine of fuel is a certain route to catastrophic results. One needs to keep the injector duty cycle low to avoid this. Why push the envelope (unsafely and blindly)?

too much S/C RPM for me to recommend installing your 2.55

there have been a ton of people who have done the 10% crank pulley upgrade w/o injectors, but 2.55 is more like 18%.

if it was a gift maybe I'd install it, but I would have a qualified tuner keep a close eye on AFR while tuning. And I would not spend much time at WOT.

there are a lot of people selling ID 850 injectors, if you are interested in used. Although, if you are buying new injectors just go 1050.

Get at least 1050s.

Ok, thanks for the input.. I've been looking at a set of FIC1000 injectors but wanted to make sure I needed them before committing that much money on something I didn't really need.. looks like I'll be looking for a set.. thanks again.

You are not going to just need injectors. Your going to have the fuel pump. You won't be able to deliver enough volume of fuel with the stock pump.
