Since it is not my daily i plan on keeping it for awhile but probably not over 7-8 years. Depending on how good they make the 7th gen ZL1 that would be the only thing that would make me get rid of it sooner.

I don't think I'll find something better for under $50k anytime in the next 5 years so I put 6-7 years (total) - Maybe longer since it'll be paid off and I might not want to keep paying for a track car by then

i hate selling stuff. if anything, i’ll put it in the garage and buy a newer vette or something. this plan also bars anything crazy happening, ie job loss or whatnot.

Well it's actually incredibly simple. The industry has come up with a whole host of ways to make it easier for you. Starting at the beginning, they have come up with this crazy concept of brick-and-mortar stores called "dealerships" where you can go and browse the inventory, maybe even take a test drive. Inside these "dealerships" there are different people employed to assist you with the buying and selling of your cars called "salesmen". If you do not have the cash to pay for it, they can even set you up with financing! I highly suggest you look one up and pay a visit, it's really the most charming thing to come out of the roaring 50's.

I plan to keep this car until something else comes along that I want more, but that hasn't happened yet. My daily driver and other cars get swapped out like underwear...

i think he’s referring to the financial losses involved. i imagine frequently renting 50k cars via dealerships gets expensive.
