Too plain. Not enough vents, slots, compound curves, and other appurtenances.

Here is actual photo of car and stats of Z4 that is based on so I would expect at least same horsepower.
"turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six making 382 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, and a 30i model with BMW's latest turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four, which makes 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. BMW is estimating zero-to-60-mph times of 5.2 seconds with the four and 4.4 seconds with the six."

Yeah the ass is too droopy but I'll have to see in person. Might need wing like old Supra to finish up the rear.

I like it, horsepower seems soft but a little lighter then SS Camaro still make at least 0-60 of 4.1 interesting. I been waiting for this car and I can see myself in this a couple years from now.

Went to the press conference. Very cool reveal. Akio Toyoda discussed his long history with previous Supras that led him to agree to the FT-1 concept car and the eventual development of the Supra. Performance numbers line up well with Camaro SS, but with 120 fewer horses and 90 fewer lb-ft (though available much earlier). Curb weight is 3,397. That’s gotta help make the physics work.

Supra is more like Japanese Corvette. It is only two seats. Unlike before was 4 seats sport car.

It looks odd to me, not really bad, but odd and I don't think that's a good thing. I wonder if stock performance will be close to what Toyota projects, I mean it's roughly 300 lbs lighter than an SS and has 120hp/90tq less, it also has similar weight to a V6 6th Gen Camaro, same HP but more torque. To me, 4.1 seems a wee bit optimistic, I'm thinking more like mid/high 4's.

From a performance stand point it's looking pretty stout so far. The 0-60 seems pretty insane, I'm curious to see if it's reproducible for the average joe. More rigid than an LFA. Lightweight too. Stock form it'll be expensive but solid; aftermarket I can see it killing some good cars, including the SS possibly, if that BMW engine can hold together well.
Nissan will have a lot of work cut out for them. They gotta squeeze that VR30 into it asap. |
