Trailering ZL1 in enclosed trailer???????
Looking for some assistance from anyone putting their ZL1 in an enclosed trailer. I Have a 19 ZL1 on order and need to get my trailer in order to pick it up. I've never loaded anything this low before so I'm trying to find out what if any mods I need to make to my ramp door.
I do NOT want to get foam type ramp extensions like race ramps or similar and want to limit or eliminate and wood planking. If I have to extend my ramp, I'll get some aluminum extension ramps. I just need to confirm whether I do or don't without the advantage of having a car to look at. The ramp door is 7ft long and sits just under 17" at the hinge. The door drops down and sits at 5" at the end where there is a 24" transition plate. So total door length is 9ft long. I can likely raise the tongue to reduce the 17" hinge height. Anyone have some pics / dimensions of their current setup? Thanks in advance... |

Look in to an E-Track and strap setup. Game changer.

My SS is lower then the zl1 and I can load mine in my Stealth Titan without issue. I do have to move my car closer to the pass side so I can open my drivers side door just a little to crawl out. You need to have the window down but its easy after that. I have a 6 pt roll bar in mine and I do have to take the door bar out to get in and out. If you haven't bought an enclosed trailer yet I would advise not buying shorter then a 24ft. Being able to move the car to get the right tongue weight, carrying extra fuel, generator, etc.

How tall is your ramp at the hinge? How long is the door and transition plate? Do you have pics of the setup. I'm not holding my breath that I'll be able to squeeze out of the door so I'm going to have a winch setup. Hopefully I can though. Good motivation for a quick diet, lol. Thanks |

I'll post some pics later and get those numbers for you. My trailer does not sit high like some of the enclosed do

Something like this would be perfect. Just drive in and close door They are the only enclosed trailer allowed to deliver the Ford GT since its able to handle how low the car is.

There NOT the only company that can tow a Ford GT, They're merely the company that paid Ford, I mean partnered with Ford to be associated with the GT. Though I suspect if you're paying $500,000.00 for a sports car, This isn't your likely first choice for a trailer. Pretty much any enclosed trailer manufacturer can set up the trailer/ ramps to tow anything you want. You just need to know what that spec is. In our case, we've never even had a car in the trailer as its been used primarily for display purposes and a UTV. |

Leave the spring pads in it to keep the front lifted you should be fine. I have only had my ZL-1 in and out once but I had no issue with the spring pads in. I have not tried it without but I will venture to guess you will touch the splitter without the front lifted.
