To check the bleed work, you can go for a drive after, and check the rotor temperature with a heat gun afterwards. Try not to pump the brakes, this will minimize the air effect on the system....

If you have a lot of blow by in the crankcase, do a compression test. Most probably the rings are shot or you have a piston/ring broken.
