Actual Camaro Z/28 Prototype Just Spied?!

This new Camaro prototype has just been spied today and we’re betting it’s the new Camaro Z/28.

Car and Driver has reported that the new Z/28 is still in GM’s plans after recently revealing the ZL1 1LE.

Any telltale signs that this is a high performance model Camaro? The front camouflage is clearly hiding a prominent lip and the hood camouflage features a flap which could be concealing extractor vents or perhaps a window (a la ZR1).

New Camaro Z/28 Prototype Spotted Without Wing

A less-disguised prototype for the all-new Camaro Z28 has been spotted running on Michigan public roads without the rear wing it wore during its recent Nurburgring tests.

What’s interesting is that so far, all the Z/28 prototypes spotted testing on public roads have been without the large wing spoiler. And every time the prototype has been spotted on test or race tracks, the wing has been fitted. Perhaps this is an indication that the spoiler wing will be optional?

Now that the all-new ZL1 has been revealed, the all-new Camaro Z/28 is being prepped to pick up where the last one left off. That means it’s destined to be a stripped-down track machine boasting incredible figures from a brawny engine.

Though still heavily camouflaged, the prototype previews a aggressive large upper front grille and a huge rear spoiler, which looks to be a high wing instead of a trunklid spoiler like the 5th gen Z/28. It still wears the 5th gen Z/28 wheels, which will of course be replaced with a new unique design.
