We now know that the all new 6th gen Camaro ZL1 is capable of lapping the Nurburgring nearly 8 seconds faster than the 5th gen Z/28. Knowing is one thing, but seeing this difference is another.

The Camaro ZL1 configurator is now available at GM Family First, an online builder for GM Employees (and their families), and it has revealed all options available, including their pricing (both MSRP and after GM Employee Discount).

The most anticipated bit of info revealed is the pricing of the all new A10 10-speed automatic transmission ($1,595 MSRP), which you recently saw in furious action as it helped the ZL1 run a 7:29.60 lap at the Nurburgring.

Chevrolet today unleashed this time-attack video of the 2017 Camaro ZL1 lapping the Nürburgring Nordschleife in a blistering 7:29.60. The new ZL1’s lap time is 11.67 seconds quicker than the previous ZL1’s fast lap.

To put it in perspective, this is nearly 12 seconds quicker than the 5th gen ZL1!!

If there’s one person deserving of possessing the new ZL1, it’s the car’s chief engineer, Al Oppenheiser.

He’s just taken possession of this beautiful silver Camaro ZL1 convertible featuring the all new A10 automatic transmission. It seems likely that this is a CTF (Captured Test Fleet) car and not Al’s permanent personal car, but it’s still quite a piece of kit to drive in the short term!
