Anybody replaced their Compressor?
After seeing a post from ELITE ENGINEERING talking about an electrical A/C compressor, if feasible, I'm considering going that way since it would be better for my interchiller system. However, as always, it seems there are some questions to answer. #1 is what refrigerant should I use. All new cars here in Thailand still have 134A. Yes, it's true. I went to both Honda and BMW and their 2024 cars still contain 134a. So I was considering cleaning out my YF system, cleaning up and vacuuming the lines and loading up 134a, which is everywhere here. I'm hung up on my interchiller installation because I haven't got access to YF at all. I've got to import it, which comes with its own issues. #2) Would an electrically driven compressor be better since nobody ever drives without A/C on here? Obviously, my savings on fuel would be fairly significant over the years. but what about performance of the compressor itself? has anybody ever done anything like this? If you're tracking your car, this should be better as well for the cars overall performance. How to hook this compressor up elecrtrically. I would think this would take some wiring knowledge as this is going to take more power than a fog light....
