2017-2019 ZL1 Expansion tanks back in stock

This kit allows you to have a reservoir on your 2017 -2018 zl1 so that you can fill and check the system periodically. It is complete with mounting bracket, bottle, hoses and hose clamps.Uses all OEM Connections and clamps to the supercharger.

We have a few of the Expansion tanks for the ZL1 boxed and ready for shipment as of 2-23-19. The last time we announced them we sold all in one day so don't wait very long. We are sitting on 10 ready to go with new updated instructions and also much easier install than the first generation.

Install note - The first generation of these you had to remove the Intake system from the car to access the intercooler pump inlet, this made for beat up hands since it is a bit tight to get to. The latest version only requires you to disconnect the outlet of the supercharger coolant line, remove the fill barb fitting from the factory hose and install our hose that leads to the bottom of our expansion tank. 5 min at most. The other line on our expansion tank plugs in to the supercharger utilizing factory connection barb. PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST REUSE THE CLIP FROM YOUR OLD BARB on the new 90 degree quick connect.

Hey Stephen, how much more coolant does that thing hold! Cant really get a sense of size from pics. I am coming from a Corvette that had a lot of overheating issues on the track and don't want to have those issues again! It looks like they have improved the installation process since you got yours. I read your thread on it!

It's not really the volume it adds but the ability to actually fill the system.
GM learned from the vette and added extra coolers so overheat hasn't been an issue.

The volume isn't as important as the fact this item self bleeds the inherent air pocket formation that plagues the LT4 intercooler circuit. Street driving wouldn't cause any of these problems as much as road course scenarios. No matter what, this setup is a great add and looks factory installed. Most techs would question if this was a factory setup installed by GM. The overall cooling is amazing in the Camaro ZL1 and has no overheating issues with regard to the engine coolant temperature, oil temperature, or transmission fluid. I have run this car in 95+ heat for 30min sessions at VIR, and it has not let me down. The above system is the "new and improved" version that actually fits better and holds more fluid. I've installed both and the new one is top notch.

Is this a 'messy' install or do the factory connections seal when you pull the OEM tubes off?

only slightly messy...no way around dropping a few ounces of Dexcool when disconnecting the factory hoses from the intercooler pump (the messiest) and the upper manifold. Once this happens, the mess is over. Get some 50/50 Dexcool from your local parts store to prepare for the install.

no problem...bring it and I will install it at the VIR garage. If you don't have a Rotofab (don't buy one) get a Green panel air filter (#7299) and we will slap that in your stock air box (preferable). See you there and leave everything else stock besides brake fluid and maybe brake pads. If you plan to run more events, get a set of track pads as the stock pad material will be imbedded in the rotors and swapping to track pads after this event will cause brake shudder and chatter.
