GM engine "interest" survey....

I just completed a survey sent to me by GM thru a 3rd party. The survey was gauging my interest or disinterest, as a current Camaro owner in 4 different engine options:
2.0L turbo (275hp)-5.5second 0-60
2.0L turbo/hybrid (365hp)-4.4second 0-60
6.2L V8 (455hp)-4.0second 0-60--20MPG
6.2L V8/hybrid (545hp) 3.7second 0-60--24MPG

They asked me to pick which one I would have the most interest in and gave you a paragraph to say why. I told them the 6.2 V8 hybrid for one reason, the 545HP. I also told them the lack of an available manual transmission, with a clutch pedal was a deal killer. Figure it out with a 6M and we have a winner. What are y'alls thoughts on the survey and the potential new engine options they are curious about offering?

Hybrid Camaro ? well, I like them offer hybrid version of Camaro.

GM doing well in hybrid cars. Putting Volt tech for plug-in Camaro, sound isn't bad for me.

For manual, I just only know Honda CR-Z had manual gearbox,

but for other hybrids, they never offer manual.

I bought mine specifically because I thought we were on the edge of losing V8 engines in the near future.
I know tesla’s Are like rocket ships that push you back into your seat, but a friend has one and he says he hates hearing the tire noise and wind through the weatherstripping. In other words, no V8 rumble.
As far as hybrids, a few rental cars I had, have literally shut down at stop lights....hit the gas, and then they start back up.... irritating.
But it looks like I was right, the SH is right around the corner... Super Hybrid!... it can leap tall mopars in a single bound!

I see no reason for the hybrid 4-banger at all, especially when they have the V6 which is far simpler, and AFFORDABLE, and assuredly be just as quick.

If confined to that list, I would choose the third, 455hp-V8. (If I was in the market)

I would guess that they would be discontinuing the V6, because their hybrid turbo 4 would be faster. I'd probably buy that if the fuel economy was noticeably better. But I live in Canada so I'm paying about twice what most of you guys are for gas.

Personally, I don't buy that.. V6 can use ordinary gas, doubt if the turbo can be fed that.
For you, i would think the V6 would be a no-brainer with higher gas retail.

The V6 is being used in a lot of vehicles, and I doubt would be phased out anytime soon.

I have recently completed the same survey , all i can say is its going to be a very interesting journey ahead for the 7th gen Camaro . I have no doubts there will be Hybrid Camaros at some level and the V6 are on the way out .

You are missing the point. The answer isn't what's affordable, it's FE. Period.

However, if you want a better FE choice, eliminate the 6.2L and replace that with a 3.6L Hybrid. Now you are faster than a base V8 and POOF it's gone. Be glad that wasn't a choice.

I would enjoy telling people I drive a hybrid under those circumstances. Still, I’d prefer a 500hp NA and avoid the complexity.

6.2L V8 (455hp)-4.0second 0-60--20MPG, with a 6-speed manual. I’m a traditionalist, plus I don’t want to be one of the early hybrid buyers (victims) who has to help GM debug the hybrid system.

No hybrids, no 4 cylinders, keep manual transmissions, and fck CAFE and the EPA. I don’t care if I get 10 MPG.

One of the reasons why I bought my 2018 V6. Ford dropped theirs two yrs ago, Honda dropped theirs this year and manufactures copy cat each other.

The 3.6 Liter V6 is awesome hopefully GM doesn't do something as stupid as drop such a good motor. I'm sure they can make the turbo 4 Banger quicker but it was still sound like s***.

Also as others have said keep the manual or else lose the faithful

I wouldn't want a V8 hybrid in the Camaro only because of weight. I would live to have a 4 door sedan, G8/SS sized, that had that option (without the soft styling the SS had).

A 4cyl hybrid would be cool and the smaller engine could offset the weight of the electric motor and battery.
