Unibody inquiry
Is it the SAME unibody for all trim levels? I've been scouring the interwebs for weeks and I can't find the information that I require.
I know all about brake and suspension upgrades for an engine swap, but what I really need to know is if I were to drop (despite the outrageous costs) a supercharged V8 into a 2LT, will I have to "beef up the frame" so to speak, or is the ZL1 unibody identical to all other trim levels? |

In the 6th Gen book that's available, I recall there being some torque box brackets that were added for the V8-cars. I don't know if those brackets made it to all production cars. Except for convertibles, I don't think there are differences in unibodies. I couldn't guarantee that, though.

The unibody is the same for all of them. The upper-tier cars have a few extra bolt-on braces, though. I would think those have less to do with power and more to do with preventing chassis flex during cornering and braking with the very grippy tires they come on. But if you can get the braces then you should be able to bolt them on if you desire.

See diagram posted here: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=426710
That outlines which models get which additional bracing.
