Code P06DB

Had this code come up last night. Did some research here on the forum and found exactly what it was.

Here are more pics of the problem and the fix. Cut the wires, solder back together. Tape connections, heat shrink, put loom back on and tie wrap out of the way.

Why didn’t you have the dealer replace the harness?

1. It is part of the whole engine harness, would not get replaced.
2 Don't trust dealership to mess something else up.
3. Was able to drive my car without waiting.

Good catch. I don't blame you for fixing yourself.

Excellent catch on your part. I totally agree with your decision to just fix it yourself. So what does that code tell you?

1) Yes they would. It’s a known defect you had nothing to do with.

2) OK

3) I get that, I do. I personally would rather have a new harness & wait than one that’s been repaired, even if it was by me, & I have done a lot of soldering in my time & made my own stand alone EFI harnesses from scratch.

Only now your almost new car has an issue & they find that, they will more than likely give you a very hard time.

This is what the code is.

P06DB Engine Oil Pressure Control Circuit Low

Warning comes on that says "Engine Reduced Power". I did not notice any change in power though. Check engine light went out after the fix.
