I’ve had to cars totaled this year, one my wife nailed a tree with and some guy nailed my new car.

That makes me an expert on exactly nothing.

That out of the way, I cannot imagine damage will be less than 15k. If the salvage value of the vehicle is 8 grand, the damage 15k that’s puts the total threshold at 23k if your state goes 100% value.

I assume that on a RS it’s totaled. An SS might be different.

The airbag is out, it must be a big crash. Glad you're okay.

Oh Snap! Looks pretty bad, as Soleil said if frame is OK. Also being a 2017 you should be good. It hurt seeing a fellow Hyper Blue ride in that condition.

Had similar damages on a car that was half worth of your car and it wasn't totalled. So my guess is that it won't be.

Keep us updated.

From my experience hitting a deer with less looking damage, and no air bags the bill was
$27000 on a car just pufchased for $48000
The best for you is total it
You cant sell it for anywhere near what a regular car would fo for
In fact nobody would give me a trade in price on mine
All O E M parts done at a dealer
First class job
Just bolt on parts

RS, 4 cylinder, 1LT if seeing cloth seats, 2 model years old, I would say yes. Subframe is probably damaged see how its designed to absorb head on impacts. Guys on You tube Goonzquad rebuild cars on salvage titles. They did a ZL1 you could watch and see what's involved.

Air bag deployment adds big bucks to the repair bill.

My 2SS was totaled with similar damage. I spent two weeks negotiating with my adjuster and his boss (Geico Insurance) and they eventually gave in.

My adjuster said that he convinced his boss by telling him that repairing even a small amount of frame damage would jack up costs (apparently because the chassis utilizes both steel and aluminum components). Also since it's a performance car they would need to make sure the repairs/alignment could hold up to performance level standards.

The reason why they held out so long is because the airbags did not deploy. Looks like you are one step ahead of the situation I was in. If you're not afraid of confrontation and are a good negotiator, you may be able talk your way into a total loss.
