Continuing this topic, my OEM ZL1 quad suitcase weighs 42# and my Kooks AB quad with a very small muffler weighs 20#, my car weighs 3728 with 2 gal.

Sorry, no stock ZLE weighs only 3742lbs. As others have noted, a regular 1SS 1LE weighs a little more than that with no blower and the associated extra equipment. Also, no scale that has a near 200lb readout variance depending on having the car "in exactly the right place" should be trusted to give accurate weights at all. The best way to weigh a car is with four individual wheel scales. This is the way every competition series I've ever seen does it, up to and including Formula 1.

The published curb weight for a ZLE coupe with manual trans (the lightest version) is 3883lb, and these are usually optimistic. Camaros seem to come in very close to their published curb weights. Lighter wheels and exhaust could shave a few pounds off this, but not 141lb.

It's not stock and I weighed it on Bandimere Raceway's scales, which is the platform used for all NHRA races. Sorry, I can read and it weighs 3728. Pro Stock cars weigh within +-5 lbs. on this scale.

JSH,

Since you mentioned your car is NOT stock, exactly what was done SPECIFICALLY on your end to make this car ROUGHLY 200 pounds LIGHTER than a stock ZL1???

THAT'S alot of weight reduction.

You can read, but you got readouts of anywhere from 3555-3742lbs. That means absolutely nothing except that either the scale is unreliable or there was massive user error involved. BTW, I failed to notice before that your ZLE is actually an A10 car. That means its published curb weight is actually 3944lb. So in reality you are claiming that your car is more than 200lbs lighter than the published weight, and lighter than a stock SS 1LE. That's a massive difference (pun intended), and nothing I see in your listed mods would allow for that weight loss. In fact, some of them - like the ADM intercooler reservoir - might actually add weight. So please do tell us what you did to lose that weight.

Something is clearly way off here, and common sense should tell you that when we know what other Camaros weigh as well as what the manufacturer tells us they weigh. When you were willing to post that your car only weighed 3555lb, that tells us that you aren't using critical thought as a reality check on your findings. Reality checks also tell us your car weighs significantly more than 3742. If something is too good to be true...it isn't true.

And when I pull the passenger and rear seats again it'll weigh ~3680. There's lot of guys here with equal or greater Jenny Craig.

I agree that the 3,555 lbs was a goof and he should update the original post and omit the 3,555 lbs reference. But 3,7XX lbs w/ only 2 gallons isn't that far off. That said, I'm pretty sure the 3,944 lbs is the published weight for the ZL1 A10, not the ZLE A10, IIRC. The ZLE is a little lighter than the ZL1 due to the wheels and suspension differences.

That said, Car and Driver and MT both weighed the A10 ZL1 and got 3,925 and 3,926 lbs, respectively, with a full tank of gas. The ZL1 M6 weighed 3,904 lbs. Motortrend weighed the M6 ZL1 1LE and got 3,837 lbs, while C&D's M6 ZLE weighed 3,842 lbs, both with a full tank of gas. C&D weighed the 2019 ZLE A10 and it was 3,886 lbs, I couldn't find MT's weight for the ZLE A10 (or if they even tested one). So, with only 2 gallons that A10 would have weighed 3,779 lbs, while the M6 versions would have been in the 3,730 lbs range.

Compared to the competition (Shelby GT500 and Hellcat variants), the ZL1 and ZLE are "relatively light". Heck, both magazines weighed the regular 2018 Mustang GT which weighed 3,860 lbs (A10) and 3,878 lbs (M6 by C&D), but with 3 less gallons of gas due to its smaller fuel tank. That's heavier than the M6 ZLE, and within a few pounds of the M6 ZL1, esp. if you take away 3 gal from a ZL1.

Do a search. There's extensive listings of Jenny Craig items and weights. My initial post had a typo.

Consider the difference between having a low fuel load and a full gas tank that is used for a curb weight for starters. Using the 3886 lb that Idaho says C&D found for a 2019 ZLE A10, then subtracting 105 lbs for the fuel difference (OP specified 2 gal) gives 3781 lb. Then subtracting another 40 lbs for the AntiGravity battery listed in the OP's sig gives 3741 lbs. Hmm, this 3742 lbs report is not sounding so crazy.

Robert Weathers has done a lot of weight loss mods to his 2017 1LE and has gotten car down to around 3414lbs. CF doors, hood, front fenders, seats, BMR suspension components throughout, DSC MRC coilovers with DSC controller(almost done with testing and out on market for purchase) So much weight lost that he had to add ballast weight to run in USCA autox events. Has to be 95% published corn weight. This car FLIES on road course at 3414lbs. You can bet there aren’t many cars out there in similar size that can beat this car on a road course or autox. Look him up. He also publishes Mad Motor Magazine.

Robert has had two different Camaros. The first was a 2017 SS 1LE (not supercharged), as you indicate. And he did drop a lot of weight from it with all those mods. But it wasn't a ZLE, so doesn't quite compare to the OP's car. His current car is a 2018 ZL1 (1LE, I think). I don't know what it weighs, but it weighs more.
