I've seen picture testimony from other customers who have had similar damage to mine at the facility my car will be fixed at. They were completely satisfied on the repairs.
They offer a lifetime warranty on their work as long as I own the car.
I still to this day have no idea if they are going to allow the repair but given the data I have seen on here and elsewhere, It is highly likely they will opt for the repair.
If the car is totaled, finding another will be almost impossible these days.
Car lots are empty everywhere due to computer chip shortages. The dealers have cars sitting in football sized fields waiting on the chips. Without them the cars are useless.
I will update when I find out if I am getting totaled or not.
Thank you to all who have given their insight. I do appreciate it. Read every post.

Repairs authorized. Not going to be totaled. I will post pictures of their work when I get her back in a month.
Hopefully, the end of my experience will help others decide if they want to go the repair route or drive their car into the local lake.

Good luck. I’ve personally seen what a good PDR guy can do, it’s amazing actually. Post pics when it’s finished.

I cant wait to see the after photos.
We have a 2020 Camaro vert and a 2019 F-250. I cant even imagine what that hail would have done to my alumaduty but holy crap.
Will be waiting for the finished product.
Good luck brother!

Still in the shop. So far the estimate has grown to 15k. All the panels are being replaced except the driver side.
The repair facility called me today and said the car has been rebuilt and going into the paint booth on Wednesday the 7th of July.
Estimated delivery day is 7-13.
Thanks to the inflated cost of cars right now, there hasn't been any push back from the insurance company to cover the cost of repairs.
I will post pictures when I get her back.

Wow, that hail in Texas/Oklahoma is nuclear. My ex-wife's Honda Civic got totaled out from the damage in northern San Antonio, blew the windshield in and she had to hide under the dash, haha. Hope they give you new body panels!

I guess I would ask to see how the panels fit before they paint it. Glad you're getting taken care of.

Finally Got Her Back!

I was apprehensive to say the least. When I got there and saw it, I was just blown away. Every panel replaced, new doors, roof, trunk, hood, back dash, all the glass was brand new and tinted as before. The paint is factory quality. I honestly can't tell the difference.
The interior cleaned and detailed and and the leather was smelling factory new.
It's been a long time since I sat in my Camaro. Been using the mother-in-laws truck since May. When I first sat in it, It felt almost foreign and I had to remember how to use the infotainment all over again. It all came back to me in a few minutes. I was too busy listening to the exhaust to care anyway.
This was a long journey but the work they did was very impressive.
No warning lights, all the bells and whistles still work great.
Happy Ending here!

Your links don't work (at least not for me). Did you get diminished value from your insurance company? I forgot if you mentioned this already.

Hold onto that money. Don't buy now. If you plan on getting a used one again wait until later in the summer when prices go down and buy.

With major damage like that it's like it has herpes now. I wouldn't want to take the hit on trade in.
You actually think prices are gonna go down later in the summer? If anything they've steadily increased across the board since this time last year

Texas is a diminished value state, which means you may be entitled to the diminished value of your vehicle after an auto accident. The statute of limitation on diminished value claims in Texas is 2 years, and Texas does have uninsured motorist coverage for diminished value. You can’t submit a Texas diminished value claim if you were the at-fault party in an accident, or if the damage was caused by something other than a collision.
