Like every repliers, many thanks from a 6 foot tall men! I absolutly have to make this mod.
BTW, on the 2 last pictures, it appear to see you using a socket with an extension.

Nice job for a guy that's not mechanically inclined , the difference between us that are and guys or gals that are not mechanically inclined is taking the plung and doing something out of the norm for you way to go. Each time we do something we don't normally do we learn that most things are possible if we just give it a try. Good luck on your next task. Giri

What size torx screw is needed for removing the seats off the brackets in step 1?

TIP: Don't close your trunk after you've disconnected the battery

Lower the rear seats and you can reach in for the trunk release.

Could you also just connect a jump box under the hood and then the trunk release would function?

What about us leather guys. I hate the fact my seats don't recline in my 2SS AND C7 CORVETTE I am willing to fricking remove the leather to do this mod. What sucks is all this was just exposed in my corvette as I had Competition seat backs installed in that car. LOL

So update here. After my initial post I noticed in one of the pictures someone did it with leather as well so I checked my seat for the zippers and WOOHOO they were in place. So I pulled my drivers seat and started the drilling. Guys I am very technical. I put a supercharger on my C7, I replaced clutches in my C5's, replaced rear ends, etc.. All the work on my Camaro has been by me. Drilling out this stopper SUCKED lol. As Giri said get yourself a damn good drill. I was using my 18v Makita and it was a real pain. I too was a bit off so I couldn't get all of the stopper out and the screwdriver method did not work for me. I finally gave up and figured I would come back to it later. None the less I put the car back together and tried to recline not in the seat and noticed it went to its factory location then backed up a tad bit more. Now I DONT recommend this but it is my car so I didn't care, I basically jumped in the seat inclined it some, then reclined putting ALITTLE pressure from my back and BAM I got over the hump. Now some are going to be concerned about where the piece went and how I could have damaged something but hey I was willing to take the chance. I drove 1.5 hours today in good ole Cali traffic and man it was the best ride ever. To think the greatest mod I have done to date was FREE.

Also note I am a barbarian and didn't disconnect the battery either LOL

Would this be dangerous if God forbid you got in a major accident? e.g. the seat collapsing?

This is really one of the essential mods that is almost required in the Gen 6. I did this mod on the weekend and now my bride can finally fully recline her seat when she's shitfaced from margaritas. Kudos to you good sir!
