Do you think a surge tank alone would be enough without the need for a fuel cell? (If I'm getting any of the terminology mixed up feel free to point that out as I'm not really sure how a fuel cell and a surge tank work together)
Definitely put it in the trunk, under car sounds more dangerous due to all stuff around it in cramped space that could damage it in a crash. Yes a large tank only, no fuel cell, with 2-3 pumps will probably solve your problems but you should talk to the team at Radium and they can configure the solution you need based on all the inputs required.

I sent an inquiry to Aftermarket Industries yesterday and they got back to me right away.

https://www.fueledbyai.com

Shawn from AI put together a kit for me with everything needed to install one of their surge tanks.

If you are interested in something similar, reach out to Shawn directly at shawn@fueledbyai.com

So looking at doing ai or radium. But my big question is how does all the electrical tie in. Do the surge pump tanks run off what the in-tank should have or do you have them kick on separately. Like I’m having the idea in my head that they are just always on when it’s running lol.

With a fuel cell and integrated surge tank, the setup will typically include a heavy duty fuel pressure regulator in the engine bay. If 2 Ti 285 pumps in the surge tank are enough fuel, you might have them run continuously--with -8 AN lines the FPR has no trouble returning the excess fuel back to the cell.

If you need 3 pumps you could use a Hobbs switch to trigger the 2nd and 3rd pump at certain boost level so you aren't always pumping so much fuel.

I feel like one pump would work best for most ppl also for what they are rated to kick a second or third on with a Hobbs or Dsx. Just wasn’t sure on the electrical aspect. Would you lift pump stay on the same power as the normal pump in the surge tank(surge running off a remote signal from the ecu on its own power)

Yes I think the lift and surge pumps run at the same power.

One 285 lift should be enough, with 2 surge pumps. I think the ECU can control everything in terms of power except Hobbs switch for a 2nd surge pump. I can’t provide details on this, Radium could spec it out.

I've been working on it on and off. I have the tank mounted, wired, and halfway done with the plumbing. The main issue so far is the lack of room to run from the tank up over the differential but it is doable. The tank has 3 dw400 pumps.

Exactly what I was pictured how I’d do it lol.

^^ thats nice. I dont see the feed line from the factory system though. Where did you hide it?

I don’t believe his systems connected to the cars fuel system yet. Due to the tank not actual having a signal to turn the pumps on.

Looks like he’s working on that plumbing now.

It will end up on one of the three -8an fittings towards the front of the surge tank.

One will be the return from the regulator
One for overflow from surge into the factory tank
One will fill the surge tank from the factory tank.

I see the fc2/3 what will you use for the remote signal for pump 1 fpcm wire tap? And then for the other two pumps Hobbs switch or?

Going to tap off the 12v going to the stock fuel tank pump for the 1st pump so both will be activated at the same time, then 2 and 3 will be a hobbs switch or I have a DSX controller from my Aux pump setup I removed that if its 12v switched and not negative switched I'll end using that over the hobbs.
