I double-checked and the 2019 can already update everything, I was mistakenly thinking about Cadillac's 2020 changes, sorry. You guys should be good.

My 2018 also has some update functionality over wifi, but it's limited, updating the infotainment software itself requires a dealer visit.

Cool thanks for clarifying it.

Well, I am getting my car back today and I will see what setting affects it, possibly.

If that doesn't work, I will mention it when I bring the car back in for the PDR repair. The g-meter is off by 0.07G by one side; they tried a relearn and it didn't work, so they said they will have to replace one of the parts.

So did you figure out anything on the locks?

Nah, I tried to adjust different settings, even the ones that are completely unrelated. Nothing I did made it appear, ever.

I will make sure I ask about it when I go in for the PDR repair.

Keep us updated on the outcome, I'm very curious to hear what it was

Here's what's in the manual for my 2020:

Page 20 states:

Automatic Door Locks

When the doors are closed, the ignition is on, and the shift lever is moved out of P (Park) for automatic transmissions, or if the vehicle speed is above 13km/h (8 mph) for manual transmissions, the doors will lock.

<directions to unlock doors>

Automatic door locking cannot be disabled. Automatic door unlocking can be enabled through vehicle personalization. See Vehicle Personalization - 124.

On Page 124 (127, actually, as 124 is the start of the section):

Auto Door Unlock

This allows selection of which of the doors will automatically unlock when the vehicle is shifted into P (Park) with an automatic transmission or when the vehicle is turned off with a manual transmission

Select Off, All Doors, or Driver Door.

I checked the menus on mine and everything is present as described in the manual, and I have a 6MT 2SS. I definitely can not see this being a trim level item and would suspect that the software needs to be re-flashed at a minimum. I have read of some owners have odd issues with their cars due to this car having a lot of computer-controlled areas and being overly sensitive to voltage values from the battery. Lots of conversations about keeping the car tied to a battery tender all of the time to prevent weirdness... ???

This is exactly how it works on my 2018 as well, the wording in the manual is the same to the letter, the same menus are present and every option works as designed.

I think UnknownJinX's infotainment has some software glitch that the dealership will hopefully confirm and fix.

Looks like that’s the answer if you set it to off that should mean your doors will not unlock. They will all stay locked.

So I was informed by the dealer that it's because I have the navigation(RPO code IOT) and it's a functionality exclusive to the RPO code IO6(8" head unit w/o the navigation). They run different firmware and so it's not available to me.

Dunno if this is the actual reason, but that's what I have been told.

Well if that's true, it's one weird change for 2019, because I have navigation on my 2018 and this lock option works on mine...

Also, IO6 is a 2016-2018 infotainment RPO name, specifically the one I have, and the 8" head unit w/o nav went by IOS in 2019, so I have some doubts about whether this information is correct. It also makes zero sense to take away a valuable feature from a higher spec infotainment unit, but then that would not be fully unexpected from GM.

Hopefully someone else with a 2019 + navigation or a dealer/aftermarket vendor that has more information can chime in to help you. Could this be a Canada-specific change perhaps?

16-18 run on MyLink while 19+ run on Infotainment 3, so they are different systems with different software and possibly hardware as well.

I read the comments on the papers they gave me, which said that a "dummy vehicle" with IO6 RPO has the auto door unlock options. The guys at the shop mentioned that they have a few 18 Crush Hot Wheels lying around, so they could have tested it on that.

But yeah, if someone with a 19+ w/navigation(so 3LT or 2SS/ZL1 with it optioned) can chime in, that could help me see if the dealer's explanation is true.

And yes, I agree with you that I wouldn't be surprised if this is just a mistake in the firmware for the IOT...
