I’d say no matter what brand you get, try to get wireless CarPlay if you’re an Apple IOS person. The new IOS 13 made some major improvements and I’d love to have it wireless now.

Pioneers FH-X720BT could be a nice option, especially I like its sound controls and led display. You can also see one of the best double din head units here https://99carstereo.com/best-double-din-head-units-radio/ . On the other hand, if you want any head unit at a reasonable price then you should consider Kenwood KDC-255U. Due to the availability of a USB port, you can play music directly from your device.
However, if you want single din units and already have Alpine stereo then Alpine CDE-143BT Digital Audio Receiver could also be a good choice. Let's see what sound systems these companies offer in 2020. |

Thanks guys, I just went for top of line I got the pioneer w8500nex double den. Front camera sounded appealing. I used the radio pro gm4101, with pak harnesses. Once I figured the wires out, watched a couple YouTube videos. Things went together well. Sounds better than stock. But going for a 5 channel amp and sub woofer now.

I just installed a Pioneer head unit using the iDatalink Maestro mounting system and it turned out awesome. It took me three days to do the install because I ran in to some issues with my OEM backup camera that normally displays the image on my rear view mirror which sucked big time. So I ended up buying a new camera and running the video feed from the back all the way to the new head unit. The Pioneer is awesome as it pretty much has everything I wanted including wireless Carplay which was a must have for me. The iDatalink Maestro system is sweet too. It gives my dash a whole new look while keeping all my original creature comforts along with adding an OBD2 feed that can display a ton of different engine parameters on my new Pioneer.
The project cost me about $800 in parts and about three days of work. It's been over 25 years since I've installed a car stereo so I was a little rusty. But the end result is well worth it.
