What tire pressure working well over 100mph
I'm going on a road rally. Top speeds of 140mph. What tire pressure with stock tires (Eagle F1 frts.285/35/20 rr.305/35/20) have you experienced works well for cold setting. Owners manual says 44psi cold setting over 100mph. Of course the pressure will be higher when they get hot. Just would like to know others exprience.

What event are you doing? How long will you be at the sustained speed?

I run the front F1s at 44 psi and the rear Hoosier R7s at 80% of max psi, but I'm only a mile at a time. 196mph on the top end so far

Similar to 1911 1LE I ran the front Trofeos at 45psi upto 167mph on a runway event. Rears I left at ~32psi, they came upto about 35psi and it was a hot day.
On trackdays I stick with lower, aiming for ~32psi hot all round. Have run various tyres on the Z/28 (Trofeos, Michelin Cups, Nittos) all upto ~140mph for multiple laps with no problems. Although speeds will be high on a road rally, you're less likely to be as near to the limit of the tyre's performance as you are on a trackday (unless you're really brave!!) just my 2cents |

Thanks for the input guys! I set mine to 38 to 37 frt. and back. When hot they where 40 41 today. Suprising it wasn't as harsh a ride going from 27 psi to 40 psi.

If the road rally is only "top speeds of 140+" for minimal amounts of time, like how road racing events are. The normal tire pressures should suffice.
