I would like the V8 camaro
So sept 28th 2019 I bought the 2020 V6 camaro and as much as I love it, I wonder how the v8 compares. I was lucky enough to get a 28k loan to get approved and had to fight they over 20 dealers to get a good deal on one. Hopefully end of the year I want to get the Lt1 trim around $35k but idk if I can get a good deal. I plan on trading my car in and waiting for december for their employee pricing. What was the cheapest everyone paid for an Lt1 or a camaro ss? Brand new, not used. I would love to buy the Lt1 Camaro with the auto

Won't you be completely upside-down in that 2020 V6?

That’s what I’m thinking too! The Op will take a beating on his 2020 trading it in on a new SS or LT-1!

I love my V6 and wouldnt get rid of it. I'm just getting back thoughts about "should of had a V8" and I want to make my v6 only as fast as a v8 without the whole "warranty denies" and "magnuson act" that. Plus the SS to me looks cooler in ways. I wouldnt mind buying a supercharger close to when I have no car problems in life. I just feel like a v8 is better imo but a v6 is always my top tier

So you're in the 2020 for $28k and want to upgrade to a LT1 for $35k? You'd be lucky the get $22k back as a trade-in but let's just use that number for now. You will have then not paid much back on the principal, so you may still owe close to $27k for which you will get back $22k. So on the next car, unless you come up with 5 grand cash, you will need to borrow $40k to pay off the loan and buy the new car. I doubt anyone will give you a $40k loan on a car worth $35K.

Unless you put a substantial down payment down on your V6, you’re going to be massively ‘‘upside down’ on your loan.
Having buyers remorse can suck. Especially on such a big expensive purchase. If possible, make bigger payments, to get the Camaro paid off quicker and make it your goal to get that LT1 if it’s what you really want. Be happy with your V6. At least you’re fortunate to have one. Enjoy it.

Make sure you see the big picture. Trading in for a V8 will up your monthly car payment as well as your monthly insurance payment. Plan for every contingency if you're really ready for the trade.

This is why I never buy a non v8 muscle car.
Been there done that with a mustang in the past. Your best off waiting two years, paying extra on your payments and avoiding miles as much as possible. Or just enjoy it |

Don't forget premium gas and worse mileage.

Here's another thought, and what I personally did. I have a 2018 V6 as my daily (completely stock) and my 2000 SS Camaro is my 700 hp weekend/summer toy. I paid 12k for it. This way I get my fix for crazy V8 power and sound, and since we all need a daily driver, the 6th gen V6 is really no more expensive than any other boring average new car. But with the V6 Camaro you get all the cool looks of a sports car. Kind of a win win in my opinion. Just a thought

If you want that V8, get it! Don't worry about all the guys saying it's a bad financial decision. There's nothing like that V8 rumble!

The title to your thread is confusing to me and appears that way to other members that replied to your post! Do what you want to do to your Camaro or buy a new V-8 later. It’s your choice!
