2017 Camaro SS - upgrading to brenmo brakes

Hello all - thinking of changing my current brakes. Currently I have the stock brakes on my 2017 Camaro SS, non Brembo brakes.

Now that it’s time to change brakes, I had the great (or perhaps not so great idea depending on feedback that I get from here) to upgrade my brakes to brembo.

So I did some googling and found some nice but used fifty brembo calipers.

“2017 17 18 19 Chevy Camaro SS Brembo FIFTY Caliper Set”
“ For sale is a Set of Brembo FIFTY Calipers from a 2017 Chevy Camaro SS Item is in Used Shape. Comes complete as shown. Unit had 16,162 Miles on it”

Can someone help me decide if I should purchase this.. do I need to purchase a bunch of other parts to make the conversion? If so any idea which parts?

Aren't Brembos standard on the 2SS? Mine has them.

Hi. This should be a direct bolt on for your car! You could do new pads and upgrade to braided lines for a better pedal feel. ( Not necessary though) Will be a nice upgrade for you. Never can go wrong improving your car's stopping power!

OP, are you really sure you don't already have Brembo brakes with the black calipers and very small "brembo" labels?

As far as I know, the SS comes with 4-piston Brembos standard, at least the 2018 certainly did (I have the order book), and there were no material changes from 2017.

If you want red or orange calipers, painting them is much cheaper than buying even a used set.

You are all right.. I do have the brembo brakes but yes the black ones not the red looking ones.

I’m an idiot I didn’t realize they were brembo.

The pictures I showed you guys is basically the same one but in red.

Wonder how the painting process is but I will google it.

Red looks so much nicer!

You guys just saved me like 600 dollars 💵

Haha, I'll be happy to pick up everyone's reward in We're practically neighbors.
I'd love to get me some nice garnet red calipers, too, but painting them myself would be a challenge. Will ask my detailer and PM you with details if you're really interested.

OP - look up G2 brake caliper paint and Brembo decals on Amazon. You can find any paint color you want and and new decals as well.

The 2016 thru 2020 Camaro SS all come with the Brembo brakes front and rear. The 2020 Camaro LT-1 that Gm offers now only has the front Brembo brakes and the rear calipers are the standard issue corporate parts bin calipers.
