2018 ZL1 Front Spring Assembly
OK, so I did my research and bought some PX1 lowering springs for a 2018 ZL1 with mrc. I watched the install instructions and video, read the install reviews, which indicated E-Z, and proceeded to perform the removal and install. Well when I get to removing the retaining bolt on top of the removed spring assembly, I was in for a very unexpected surprise. Even after the install, I did research for comments and special tools but nothing. Sorry pic is upside down, modds please fix. Anyway, the nut would spin unless I used a star bit to hold it. This was also the case for the strut assembly attached to the spring assembly. I forgot I had these pass through socket wrenches on the first set so I used a deep socket held by pliers.

Stupid me! I remember reading that post while doing my research but for some reason it didn’t stick with me. Maybe because I read it was an SS but I guess this affects all 2018s?
On another note the instructions say to remove the trailing arm bolt next to the shock but mine is blocked by the solid brake line. I removed the bolt near the centerline and had to disconnect a ball connection in order to release the spring. You too? Quote:

So my bad. After re-reading some of my installation research, there are mentions of requiring the pass through socket wrench. It sucks getting old-er. Anyway good job forum!

I thought it would be simpler/easier(based on the videos I saw)....otherwise I would have taken pics and documented what i did..... Not saying it was hard, just some extras I was not ready for.....

Use a air impact wrench and there will be no need to hold anything

(I need an impact wrench so rarely, I haven't been able to justify buying one.....not even an electric one.)
