What's your favorite 19" 305 for track days?

For those that run a 19 inch 305 30 square setup what your favorite tire for track use? I thought i would start with rs4 but they seem to be unavailable..

305/30 19 everyone seems to love the Bridgestone RE71R ($371). It is a spectacular tire and wear is excellent. I like the Goodyear Supercar 3R ($344.99)(stock tire on a ZL1 1LE) which is really good but wears fast.

I was considering the g3r as well but wear seems to be poor from what I've heard. I was hoping someone might have a suggestion where to locate some rs4?

Have you looked at the BFGoodrich Rival S 1.5? They now come in a 305/30/19. I have not used them. A local Mustang guy ran them and was 0.6sec quicker than the RE71R on a 60sec autocross course.

I will counter the RE71r/G3R with Hankook RS4s! They don't have the ultimate pace of the RE71r (and of course not the G3R) but they don't get hot/greasy like the REs do towards the end of a session and as some have seen from Provoste's thread the life with the RS4s is just insane! I ran my first event on them at VIR back in March and after 2 full days and about 1000 total miles round trip they looked brand new!!!

For a 305 square setup the RS4s are HANDS DOWN the best bang for your buck (they are cheaper than the REs) considering they have 95-99% the pace of the RE71 and will last MUCH LONGER. Just my 2 cents

But yes sometimes it's hard to get your hands on the RS4s :(

The OEM SS 1LE Goodyear Supercar 3 will soon be out in many more sizes, including 305/30/19. Check w/ Tirerack for possible release date. Almost as fast as the RE71r, but lasts longer and handles heat better.

I went with the Toyo R888R and will try them out this coming weekend. The stock 305 Goodyears have a tread width of 11.4 inches, and the Toyo R888R 295 has a tread width of 11.3, so it's practically the same size. They have really good track reviews and one of the best parts is that Walmart has them online for just $281. It's effectively a 305 due to them running wide. Here's my front 285/30/20 compared to my new front 295/30/19.

My new Apex ARC-8 19x10.5 wheels should be arriving any day now.

Discount Tire Direct has the G3R in 305/30 R19 for $345. Tire Rack now also has them for $344. Was thinking about going that route, but interested in hearing more from the group. I've been running Hoosiers on my Corvette, but used NT01s and 555R2s before.

I've heard mixed reviews on the R888s even though they're same compound as the NT01.

No experience with the Bridgestones or Hankooks.

If you are already experienced with Hoosiers I'd say go for the G3R, the only thing keeping me from going G3R was price & life. I can get probably 95% of the pace at $40 less per tire and the RS4s will last probably 3-4 times as long so right now R-comps just aren't worth it for me.

305 square G3Rs would probably be a DAMN good setup, and you should be able to get more life out of them rotating them a lot, and I don't think they are directional like the REs/RS4s so you can do front/rear & left/right rotation.

I just checked on them, It says they are 'Special Order' with an expected delivery date of 'Pending'. But this was from the NV warehouse. Maybe one of their other warehouses has them in stock.
