Wheel repair - Curb Rash

Wondering where you guys take your wheels for curb rash if you do?

I emailed awrs Austin and was given a quote of $105 per wheel...sent them pics as well.
I should have had the previous owner do it, he told me his dealer would do it for $75, but that was in Dallas and I wanted to drive the car already!

Here's a link if anyone is interested, but would like to know where others have taken their wheels.

I have the Central Texas AWRS rep meeting me at work tomorrow to fix the rash on one of my front 1LE wheels. I'll report back and let you know how he does.

Cool!
So they'll meet you at work and do the repairs with the wheel on the car?
That's a saving of time right there.

Looking forward to your update!

That may depend on the individual AWRS rep's schedule. The CenTex one goes to several dealerships that are close to my work in Waco (as well as covering Temple/Belton and Killeen/CC), so he said he could meet me at work since our parking lot is big enough and his schedule allowed it. People will usually meet him at car dealerships in the area since he does a lot of work for them too.

The wheel will be taken off to complete the repair. I have a friend that had this rep fix his ZL1 rims in Killeen, and having seen his repair/refinishing work in person, I can say he did a fantastic job.

The Central Texas AWRS rep met me at my work yesterday around 1. It took him right at about an hour to do the repair. He did a fantastic job and took very good care in doing everything. I lent him one of my rubber jack pucks to use when lifting the right front corner. He was very courteous and professional and I wouldn't hesitate to use him again for a wheel repair. I couldn't even tell where the spots were and he himself had trouble pointing them out to me after he put the wheel back on the car! Its like it never even happened!

I know this is an older post, but if there's still anyone out there looking for a great wheel repair guy, I've got just the one for you! Call Jud at Wheel Love in San Antonio. His number is: (210) 254-8565.

He repaired the curb rash on my 50th Anniversary wheels and was even able to restore the original machined finish! Amazing work, reasonable rates!
