Spare tire/wheel for road trip

All right stupid question time,

I road trip my Zl1 a lot. On the average 7000 miles in the summer. I know our vehicles come with a road flat and slime Compressor unit. But does anyone know of a spare tire that would work front and back to get us to a tire repair shop.

This seems to be what most folks are doing with our cars...

I would find a junk yard wheel from a V6 camaro to keep it on the cheap. Get the cheapest brand tire that’s about 26” tall. A harbor freight 1.5 ton aluminum jack (small and light weight) 3 pumps and you’re in the air. A collapsible ratchet to make things much faster taking off and putting on.

I am all about the cheap, but the rotors on the ZL1 are huge. Could you even find OEM wheel, other than a ZL1 rim... that would clear the rotors?

I would imagine a 20" wheel from an LT V6 Camaro would fit with a spacer.

You need a spacer for sure.

Remember, a ZL1 with eLSD can be damaged by using a tire of different size or height.

That’s what I would get if I wanted to have a spare tire, Modern Spare! The full kit is $400 but you could get the cheaper kit without some of the tools if you already have them at home!

I went the V6 route and bought the spacer. Need 2 wrenches as there are 2 sizes of lug nuts. Found all the info. here searching for spare tire options.
