Cooling

Guys with 700hp and up, what are you doing for cooling?
Shop was kicking around putting the weapon x exchangers on.....kind of pricey and the Maggie is pretty efficient keeping the temps low

Vengeance Racing installed AFCO heat exchangers on mine.

Im at 800, and i don't have any aftermarket heat exchangers. Just the maggie 2650. I don't track the car though.

I don't have any heat issues though running it hard with coolant or oil temps. MAT temps stay around 105-120 in 90F weather while moving (depending on speed)

I was thinking I could get away from changing anything. Mine will strictly be a street car with the occasional trip to the drag strip.
I was looking at you signature, getting those numbers what did you do with fuel besides the bigger cam?

I replaced my radiator/ heat Exchanger from Dewitt radiator. They are the manufacturers for weapon X radiators and the radiators that go on the Camaro gt4.r cars

Nothing was done to the low side. High side just the cam.

See my sig for power levels.

C&R Racing Radiator
Prospeed Intercooler with C&R Core
160 LS3 Style Thermostat and housing
Cordes Big3 1Gal Reservoir

Parts I have that I still need to install include Air to Oil cooler to ditch the lack luster Water to Oil cooler. C&R Racing makes a cooler core that replaces the aux cooler for the intercooler if you are using their giant intercooler (which I am).

I road race my car, and I make 900hp at the crank. The oil will see 275F and because of the super high oil temps the coolant with all these mods will still see 230F.

C&R Claims a 50F reduction in oil temps and a huge reduction of coolant temps as well with the removal of that heat source from the coolant loop.

I will report back how well it works.

I am running Weapon X triple heat exchangers

Top run - 2.3 upper, ARH 1 7/8 LT's, Rotofab intake, 180F thermostat

Bottom run - Added Weapon X HE's, Kong ported blower, 103TB (gained 2 lb's of boost)

Looks like it's running cooler even with the added boost

You are missing the actual temp that matters, MAT, IAT2 is invalid for this car. Guarantee you are 120-140+°F MAT.

Isn't MAT a caculated value?

I wanted to compare the direct effect on IAT2.. I do know that timing tables take MAT values

MAT is what drives IAT Advance aka what will pull timing.

IAT2 is calculated based on ECT.

Most aftermarket blowers breakout and relocate the temp sensor from the TMAP out of that location for less heat soak. For example my 2300 MAT sensor is in cylinder #2.

This is correct. IAT2 is a useless reading. It's usually roughly 10 degrees F above IAT1 which is your actual intake air temp. The proper pid is "Manifold Air Temp". This is the important one. With intake air temps like yours, with the stock blower its probably around 140F.

See my SS of some of what i log.
