They EAT gas! Friend had one. His quote from FB:

Quote:
Our Tundra is a good truck but I just don't love it. At all. I can either keep it and do a mile long list of mods to make it what I want, or I can buy what I want with a warranty.

It's funny. My neighbor bought a Tundra right after I did because he liked mine. He traded it off two weeks ago for similar reasons. Plus, fuel economy. 13mpg Tundra vs 19mpg Cummins 2500

<yawn @ apples bullcrap argument>

Pretty sad a 1/2 ton Tundra TRD can't do better than 13mpg.

I had a gas F250 that got 17 average.

The 2500 Cummins is a HUGE 3/4 ton 4x4 crew cab truck by comparison and downright takes a dump on the Tundra in mpg's.

Don't care about the gas v diesel mpg argument. This is 2017 and technology should get that Toyota more mpg's. But Toyota is behind in that area on trucks.

I have a 2003 Tacoma auto with. It only averages 21 mpg's. Ridiculous! My SS at 400hp factory at 4000+ lb with me in the car averaged better. My Mustang GT averaged better. Other 4cyl trucks I had did better.

So yeah, Toyota trucks seem to suck the fuel.

Performance car, I expect it. Especially modded.

But new trucks, nope!

Toyota needs to improve there. I'll never buy another until they do.

His trucks (yoda is traded off):

Point is you can't compare a diesel motor to a gas one. Its ridiculous.

Now my Tundra with the 4.7L V-8 always got great gas mileage, but America is about bigger, so Nissan came out with the Titan and its 5.6L so Toyota made a bigger Tundra with a 5.7L. Now the Tacoma is bigger than the T-100 and closing in on the 1st gen Tundra. If you compare a 2017 Tundra to a 2017 Silverado than it would be a fair discussion. My buddy's 2nd gen Tundra gets better gas mileage than his Ram ever did and both are mid 5 liter Half ton 4x4's being driven similarly.

I had basically the same Dodge 2500 w/diesel in 1992 and it got 19mph. I could plow all night and use less than a 1/4 tank of fuel. So based on your flawed comparisons, the old diesels are dumping on the new crappy dodges?
