REAR END CLUNK/RATTLE

I purchased a 2015 1SS M6 a couple months ago, completely stock and well taken care of. Soon as I had time I installed new shocks all around with lowering springs. Eibach parts for all of it. About a week later i started getting a clunking noise coming from the back whenever going over small or medium bumps. Or when i pulled into my driveway which is about 1/2” difference from the road. I pulled my rear seats down and it gets louder. I’ve checked every single nut and bolt in my rear suspension.
Starting last week I started getting a vibration in any gear going 75 or over. It only happens when I start accelerating as the car starts shaking but it only happens sometimes. Earlier today I did a pull and flew past 75 with ease. I let go of the gas for about 6 seconds and once i applied it some, the vibrations started. I’m extremely frustrated as it takes the joy out of driving it knowing those noises are there.

Any play in the carrier bearing on drive shaft?

With the vibrations I would make sure you torqued those wheels back correctly. I doubt anything is going on the drive shaft at this point. As far as the clunking chances are the car settled on those new springs and you are hearing the top rings touching. They sell rubber isolators that make it better.

wheels are torque to spec. the springs came with isolators on them so that’s not my issue. i can describe the clunking as if the door wasn’t closed all the way so it just bangs around on the latch. that’s my best description

Doesn't sound like those springs are setting good and solid. ....so you only hear it when you go over a bump or something and has to engage those shocks/springs..... hmmmmm. Or could be a cradle/control arm bushing arm is split to give the vibration. So you could potential have two issues.

Before I installed my coilovers, I would hear that type of noise from my back left spring (lowering springs) on occasion, but did not have any vibration.

yes the sound didn’t start until after the springs were installed. it’s coming from the right side of the car. i can only hear it when the right side hits a bump or when i pull out of my driveway and the right rear tire hits the road

I had a bad cradle mount bushing in my zl1. Put solids in and it went away. Couldn’t tell bushing was bad until I lifted and put pressure on it. Then I could see the forward left and right acted differently to similar movements. But so many different bushings/arms in the rear you’ve gotta lift it and investigate.

Going out on a limb here but do you think that one of your axles just craped out due to the drop?

How much of a drop did you get and how many miles are on your current axles?

Check all suspension hardware, especially the har d to get to ones. I had almost same issue. It was a bolt that backed out. Otherwise I would look into those springs you put in.

Just another shot in the dark, but when we installed my Pfadt springs in my Camaro, the instructions showed and stated that on the top portion of the springs where the coils end is supposed to face the "center" of the car. I'm guessing so that they sit correctly in the upper isolators, if the camaro has them?? That could cause some minor movement if they are not seated correctly. I know my mustang I had there were isolators in the upper suspension where the springs sat.

I did a 1.4 rear and a 1.1 in the front. if they haven’t been changed, then they’re stock. so about 80k miles. i bought the car with 65k on it
