If it's "hitting a wall" that sounds like fuelcut, but I don't think it'd make sense to not be hitting that on the highway as well, unless you get less boost in higher gears - but that seems unlikely to me. I don't know much about superchargers, but on my old turbo s13 if I ran anything over 20psi it would feel like hitting a wall as soon as it was over 4.5k. At 20psi or less, it would head into the red. My guess work probably helps none...but could an injector be faulty? Also, have you tried 0-60 in competition mode to see if that makes any difference? |

If the motor cuts out, like you shut it off, there is an issue (rev limiter).... if it just doesn't climb in rpm, let it break in more......

Are you sure it's not in valet mode?

Well, not 100% sure. I know I didn't put it in Valet mode. But I will go check.

I've seen other posts of not getting the 0-60 as advertised and some engine management even when everything is "off". Seeing some say that it wakes up after some additional miles, is there a change GM has the computer set to gradually allow a more aggressive power curve as you build miles on the car?
I wouldn't think so, but everything is so interconnected, nothing would surprise me. |

There is no "break in" setting to the computer from GM. This has been confirmed.
I would recommend a dealer visit with the car and GM tech assistance. This is not normal...and at the very least, they should determine what is wrong. It *could* be "demo mode" (forgot the official name)... It *could* be valet mode.... It *could* be teen driver mode. |

If I'm not mistaken it also has the teen driver mode I can turn on. Could that be the issue. Could've swore I saw it pop up somewhere saying these cars had it.

That's really strange. There is a 5000 RPM limit for cold engines that haven't been running more than 5 seconds. That doesn't sound like your problem though.
Just for fun here's the table from the ECM. |

Well, as you start out from 0 and launch it will be well below 5000 and build as you get going. Mine does that but cuts out completely at 5000 RPM

As others have said you should be just shifting to 2nd at 60 or letting it hit red line and done. Wish I could help more but something just isn't right as other M6 cars are getting 3.9 0-60. |
