The five stages of Camaro grief
Just an observation, but this whole process resembles the clinical five stages of grief:
1. Denial: My car will be here March 17th. After all, it's going to be built on the first day of production. Right? No, well then certainly by the end of the first week. Right? No, well then by the end of February, and in my driveway by March 1st. Right?.............. 2. Anger: Doesn't GM know I'm the most important person on earth? Why the fu_k isn't my car here already!!! My dealer is an idiot, fu_k him. Fu_k GM. I hope they go bankrupt, they're a no good piece of sh_t anyway. GM f'd up this whole process. F_ anyone on this site that dissagrees with me........ 3. Bargaining: If I call my dealer every day, my car will get here faster. If I call the 1-800 number I'll get ahold of someone that will get my car here faster. Maybe someone on this site knows the magic secret to get my car faster. If I complain, my car will get here faster. If I threaten to cancel my order, they will ship my car immediately. If I threaten to buy a Nissan 370Z, it will get here faster. If I am just patient, it will get here faster. If I pray to God............ 4. Depression: My car is never comming. I'll be lucky to get it before Christmas. Ten people already have there car, I'll never get mine. I might as well give up. It's just not worth the pain. How can anyone live under these conditions? 5. Acceptance: My order is placed. I have my order confirmation from my dealer. My order has nothing on constraint. So I must get on with other things and not dwell on it. After all, Spring is here. Time to dust off the golf clubs. Vacation comming up. Life actually does go on without my Camaro. If the car doesn't get here by mid-July, I'll cancel and re-order in February. It doesn't pay to buy a car , drive it for two months and put it in the garage for the next six. I doubt it will come to that, but if it does I have a plan. So, my question to all of you is.... what stage are you at right now? |

What stage is it that you list all the stages of Camaro grief? I am not at that one yet.

Great post. Completely agree.
#5 for me. You're either #2 or #4 (it can be hard to guage the difference between anger and depression) . Soon enough you'll join us at #5. Either that or you'll take delivery before you even get there. You'll have like 5 months to drive your car. You're just being overly dramatic. |

You forgot a stage:
0. Indecision/Confusion: Ok do I really want to buy this car? It's too late to order, and even those who ordered last year have not taken delivery. I could buy a V6 on the lot soon but do I want to be practical or just go all out and experience the hell of ordering? Is the windshield too small, the interior too cheap? Why is my dealer closed? Damn is GM going to be around next week???
