Another Supercharger Thread

I want to have my 2020 2SS A10 supercharged and I have a few questions before doing so. I have been looking at a few companies to do this in MI and have narrowed it down to two. Lingenfelter and Vector Motorsports. Lingenfelter has this package listed on their site:

https://www.lingenfelter.com/product/L011035116.html Kit states 630HP and 600 Tourqe.

Does this seem like a good deal? I am part of a Camaro group and one of our members has a car with this package done to it and it looks like they did a great job. Vector Motorsports doesn't have any packages listed on their site so I inquired as to what it would cost there but have not heard back yet.

If I decide to go with Lingenfelter are there any other additions I should look at on top of that package? anything I should ask? I currently have a GM CAI, Tony Mamo V2 PTB, and an Oil Catch Can. I don't plan on doing this until this winter so I have plenty of time to think about what I want to be done. Appreciate any and all help!

I'd go with the Lingenfelter package. A bit expensive but they do quality work. Car will be a beast.

Well that package is probably going to put you at 550 to 570 at the wheel. How much power are you looking for because you're going to have to start looking at fuel upgrades if you want to pulley down and start adding more parts. From the looks of the kit on Ligenfelter's website it looks like just a standard blower install with some extra unnecessary stuff to raise the price.

Yeah, it's a blower install and cooling and etc, and a tune. They allow you to remove all the badging and decals and it lowers the price (not sure how much) which is what I will do. As far as power goes, the only other thing I would likely do is E-85. I'm not making a 1,000 HP monster or anything just a nice light to light car. I have looked into upgrading to the LT4 Fuel system, but I'm not sure it's necessary if that is all I'm doing. Plus I'm not 100% sure what all needs to be changed other than the fuel pumps and injectors. I'm trying to learn as much as possible before just jumping into it lol.

The Lingenfelter package is basically an intercooled Maggie 2300 with a tune. Not bad IMO, although you're certainly paying some extra for the name and their warranty. Also know that no changes to the fuel system means you will be limited to low boost levels, which may be okay with you, just saying. E-85 is absolutely not going to work without fuel system upgrades.

I'd ask them about the tune, if it's really custom, the car will no longer be CARB compliant, while if it's Magnuson's canned tune, the car won't run as well. Their quoted hp/tq numbers are on the low side, so it could be either way. I don't know how much power loss the 10L80 sustains, but a 15% ballpark estimate puts you at 535 rwhp and 510 rwtq, don't be disappointed if you expect 570 rwhp or even higher.

Yeah, I hear they do great work so I don't mind paying extra for the quality. I will ask about the tune as well. I see your car has the same SC, how do you like it? Did you do anything else to the fuel besides the JMS Booster?

If your going to do E85 the bare minimum is the lt4 fuel system as your stock system will not keep up at all.

We all said this at one point! On a serious note: good luck with your build. Enjoy the process and the car.

Agree with most of the replies, all good info. OP: if you’re just going to do the blower and nothing else, then the LPE kit/install is fine. They’ll do a nice job and it will be a solid performer. If you’re going to want more, you should figure out what your end game goal is now. Buy the fuel system accordingly! If you want 800 WHP plus, don’t waste your time with LT4 fueling, go right for LPE/XDI/port right off the bat. If you want to live in the 550-750 WHP range then LT4 fueling is good to go.

I’d highly suggest a Rotofab and at least a 95mm TB to go with the blower. E85 is a no brainer assuming you’ve upgraded your fuel system.

I don't think I will get past 750WHP I love the power stock and by the time I have the Super on it, I think I will be more than happy. I will add the TB and CAI to the list. Do you know what all needs to be changed for the LT4 upgrade? Is it just injectors and pumps?

The list so far is:
Lingenfelter kit
E85
LT4 Fuel system
Rotofab intake

My 2 cents and I don't even own a Camaro although I've had 7. Don't ever consider NOT doing LT4 fueling while you do the blower. My biggest regret on my work truck... E85 truck with Whipple 2.9. Has stock fueling so I'm stuck with 93 until I pull it back off. Didn't research enough. Just do it you won't regret the few extra dollars.
