Did you get the service bulletin from the dealer because none of the usual sites pop it up?

No I got it directly from the GM person who wrote the bulletin.

The deal is they paint it so I haven't taken mine in yet. But that's the correct number.

Holy crap it needed 20 hours of correction? I assume the dealer "washers" took out their belt sander detailing tools and went to town on it before you were able to get it?

Never seen the STEK before, have you installed it before? The videos on it look really good. How much did they quote you to install? There’s 1 dealer in Colorado and they say $499 for a full front end which seems awfully cheap.

The clear coat on the CF has great depth that protects and and holds up really well. The clear coat on the paint as you have discovered, is a totally different animal.

You got lucky with a 20 hr. correction. However, once you get past the ultra thin clear coat and body paint, ZLE is an amazingly incredible performance value.

Congrats on your Z. Enjoy!

He got lucky? Whys it taking 20hrs? My car is getting paint correction done before PPF / Ceramic Coating once it’s here and I don’t think they’re planning on this long of a correction.. granted it’s just a stage 1. But interested on why such a long job.

I had 20 hours into my brand new 18 ZL1 with 80 miles on it, and the dealership didn't go through their normal PDI/detail. I took it home and pulled off plastics and even drilled my own license plate holes.

When you have a polisher in your hand, you want to do it right. I'd say 10-12 hours was just in washing, decontamination, prep, and single step correction/polishing. The rest was ceramic coating and other odds and ends.

OP- beautiful car!

Hmmm, I know they’re doing Paint Correction, PPF entire car, Ceramic Coating and window tint. They asked to have the car approx 10days so maybe.

I too am skipping the detail at the dealer and told them to just do the pdi installs leave the car unwashed with all the protective pieces on. Told them not to fuel the car either as I’m having it trailered to Paint Protection and don’t want to risk them throwing a rock against the paint or anything.

Your detailer HIGHLY appreciates that, sir! 10 days sounds right for all of that work.

All this is a little much for a $70,000 car.
