Diff fluid changed by dealer. Groan is still there. With this colder weather it takes a few miles for it to go away. Looks like it is up to me to take care of this myself. I wonder what it will sound like when it is really cold like 10 degrees in the morning.

You do not add anything extra to this fluid for a lsd.

I don't believe #92184900 has the friction modifier. However, #88862624 does, and I believe this is also what GM now recommends for the SS. I changed mine out with this one at 500 miles, and have had no noises in the past 5,000 miles.

My dealer made a diff fluid change and the groan is still there. I will call them back tomorrow. As said above, with cold temperatures it seems to make it worse.

Those that are taking to the dealership, are they changing the diff fluids for free?

This is incorrect. This is the G8 GT/Chevy SS (note: not camaro SS) specific fluid. If other options have tried and failed to fix the groan this is a last resort. It worked for me.

I cannot confirm that Eaton makes our diff or lsd but they list 92184900 as one of the compatible fluids for their LSDs along with the other one you mentioned and the regular fluid plus separate gm additive. Figured it was worth a shot especially since my G8 never made a peep.

So I just talked to the mechanics at the dealership and he mentioned the SB and that yes it might require 2-3 flush. But he also said that I have to drive the car around for a week to see if the noise is still there. Gonna report next week.

After couple of days of driving... Seems like the noise is gone... Still trying to see if it is just a temporary fix.

I have this, the dealer didn't replicate the issue, they are also doing the torque converter flush, I could go and replicate the issue for them, but honestly is this groan really anything that could cause damage? The groan only happens when the car is cold and only for the first 2 or 3 turns before it is warmed up and doesn't groan, i really don't want them to keep my car any more days for something that wouldn't harm the car long term. Thoughts?

I left my car there and the next morning they were able to replicate the groan. I think it is worth having them fixing it than taking a chance to cause a problem in the future.
