help with nitrous zl1
I have a 2018 zl1 a10. so far I have pulley swap, flex fuel e85,kooks headers, cai and tune. car is running strong 10.2 at 134mph. looking to step it up this winter with a build. hopefully getting my hands on the 2650 when it comes out and from there im really wanting nitrous. Basically im looking general guidelines on how to get this going I have a shop that is doing work for me but just wanting other opinions on build. im told stock fuel system is not gonna take it so where do I go from here. please forgive my lingo in not very experienced and/or educated. but im doing my best to change that and this forum seems to be very helpful thanks in advance

If you are going to upgrade the super charger to a 2650 I would do fuel upgrades instead of the nitrous.
From my research and asking a million questions this is what I have found. When doing a bigger Super charger the ZL1 fuel system is limited to about 700 RWHP give or take about 20HP. A cam with an increased fuel lobe is what I have seen to help with the high side of the fuel pump. Then a low side kit to help with the obvious, the low side. From what I have learned this will get you to about 800RWHP. From there on you will need to upgrade fuel pump and injectors. This is the price break down from the top of my head. NEW SC like whipple or Maggie 5k-6k Cam with 32-38% lobe about 1k kit low side about 1500-1800 Better fuel pump for the LT4 1500 New 30% more injectors 3000-3500 Total = 13,800 in just those parts. With this I would imagine somewhere between 900 and 1000RWHP is possible. Food for thought. |
